Hi,
Getting frustrated - help please. Every time I try to use an LCD TV (using mobo HDMI-out to TV HDMI-in) it results in a BSOD with STOP 0x16—telling me that the igdkmd64 did not recover. Usually before the BSOD I get something like "Display driver igdkmd64.sys stopped responding and has recovered" several times, and them–KABOOM.
The system works fine with a VGA monitor without the HDMI attached.
This is a clean Win 7x64 (Home Premium) install on a minimal system:
ASUS P8H67 B3 (Realtec HD Audio, and Realtec Gbit Network);
i7 2600K with Intel HD3000 on processor graphics
4 Gb RAM (2x 2Gb) DDR3 1333
HD - Crucial C300 128Gb SSD AHCPI.
Supposedly (?) I have the newest HW drivers
The culprit TV's are an older Olevia 42"-1080i, and a newer 26" VIZIO 1080p. Both are HDCP compliant, and both work fine with HDMI from a DVD, A/V Receiver or cable box.
So far I have tried swapping HDMI cables, tried using a DVI-out to HDMI adapter (TVs don't have DVI ports) – same result. Tried removing one memory stick (leaving only 2Gb on a single slot) same problem. Also tried with various BIOS settings -- no help. The same things happens if I booth in Safe Mode with networking, but not in Safe Mode. So, I disabled the network drivers and devices, and rebooted normally --but didn't help, same BSOD.
Have been searching the web and forums, but nothing seems to be helping.
Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Could you install 2401 first then start complaining about it?

Switching my memory command rate from 1T to 2T seems to solve general driver instability issues (using the latest test driver), though I haven't tested it for a long enough period to state that for sure. I'm not in the position to try it out using a TV on the HDMI port, but if you are and your memory is currently on 1T then you might want to give it a shot. Hope it helps someone, took me quite a long to figure/find it out. Wishing the best.

Hello,
I had the same problem with the following installation:
MoBo Gigabyte GA-H67A-UD3H-B3
CPU Intel i3 2100T
Monitor Samsung Syncmaster F2380M
Driver 15.22.1.64.2361
vBios 2080
The new "test" driver 15.22.3.64.2401 solved the problem.
But I still find that the graphics and characters aren't "top". vBios problem ?
Generally, how do you upgrade the video Bios to 21xx ? Is there a utility provided by Intel ?

Chris, have you tried 1920x1080@23 or 59 (not 24 nor 60) ? (if those are supported by your samsung)

Hello Martin,
Indeed, it does only work at 1024x768 in 59 Hz mode, but the monitor does not allow 23 Hz, so I can't test this frequency.
In 60 Hz mode, it works fine, there is no BSOD anymore.

Hi Chris
Because the VBIOS is merged with the System BIOS, the merged BIOS has to be supplied by your system or motherboard manufacturer. There are no tools for end users to merge VBIOS and SBIOS.

Asus released a new Bios for the P8H67-M Evo today. There could be a vbios upgrade in this new bios.

You do not need to re-install the Graphics Driver (2401) after updating the system BIOS (which also updates the VBIOS).

vbios= video bios = mainboard bios related, you can't upgrade it manually
As I said there is a new bios for the Asus. It would be interesting to know if there is a vbios upgrade inside. If yes, test an older driver and check for BSOD.

BSOD with 2361? What's your vbios version after bios upgrade? You can find it in control panel and info menu or something like that.

To check what version of VBIOS was installed with the ASUS BIOS update follow these steps.
1. Right click on desktop, left click "Graphics Properties"
2. At the dialog, click the "Advanced" bubble
3. The "Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel" will open, on the left side click the "Options and Support" tab
4. Under that tab, click the "Informtion Center" tab
5. On the right side you will see the graphics information and towards the bottom of the report will be the VBIOS version.
As for the 24Hz issue, we are investigating that.

thanks robert_u. i installed 2401 you provided last week so what vbios should I have in the "information center"?
just to make sure i follow you guys going forward... are you guys saying maybe because of the manufacture bios therefore some users here are not using the latest vbios in the latest driver you provided?
hopefully the manufacture with the latest bios, we will be able to use the vbios that you guys want us to use. the reason you guys using the latest vbios is you guys have some way or tool to make your vbios work without the latest bios and end users like us need to wait the manufacture update the bios in order for us to use the latest vbios in your driver.
Am I get this right or way off as usual 🙂
