I7-2600K Intel HD Graphics (igdkmd64) Crash Win 7 x64 when using HDMI

Hi,

Getting frustrated - help please. Every time I try to use an LCD TV (using mobo HDMI-out to TV HDMI-in) it results in a BSOD with STOP 0x16—telling me that the igdkmd64 did not recover. Usually before the BSOD I get something like "Display driver igdkmd64.sys stopped responding and has recovered" several times, and them–KABOOM.

The system works fine with a VGA monitor without the HDMI attached.

This is a clean Win 7x64 (Home Premium) install on a minimal system:

ASUS P8H67 B3 (Realtec HD Audio, and Realtec Gbit Network);

i7 2600K with Intel HD3000 on processor graphics

4 Gb RAM (2x 2Gb) DDR3 1333

HD - Crucial C300 128Gb SSD AHCPI.

Supposedly (?) I have the newest HW drivers

The culprit TV's are an older Olevia 42"-1080i, and a newer 26" VIZIO 1080p. Both are HDCP compliant, and both work fine with HDMI from a DVD, A/V Receiver or cable box.

So far I have tried swapping HDMI cables, tried using a DVI-out to HDMI adapter (TVs don't have DVI ports) – same result. Tried removing one memory stick (leaving only 2Gb on a single slot) same problem. Also tried with various BIOS settings -- no help. The same things happens if I booth in Safe Mode with networking, but not in Safe Mode. So, I disabled the network drivers and devices, and rebooted normally --but didn't help, same BSOD.

Have been searching the web and forums, but nothing seems to be helping.

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Anyone tried them yet?

Hi, I also have serious issues with the Intel Graphics driver. I have an Intel DH67CL Mainboard and want to use Win 7 64bit. I am not able to install no matter which version of the graphics driver: After restart, Windows won't boot (you see the Windows start/logo screen, and then, when I expect the login screen, my monitor blanks and the computer hangs). I have to boot to safe mode (which works), deactivate Intel HD Graphics in Device manager, then I can do a normal boot. I have tried the driver from CD (2219), 2342, 2361, and also the driver posted by Robert_U (2418). My monitor is connected via DVI, although I also have tried to attach an old VGA-only monitor via DVI-I-VGA-bridge, didn't help. Never have used HDMI. I also have kind of another weird history. This is my second DH67CL board. I already had one (retail version), where graphics worked flawlessly for the short time I could use it, because the mainboard soon suffered from a mechanical defect. I got another DH67CL, now the bulk version, and used exactly the same equipment like before. I thought I could just put in the hard disk and it should work, because the boards should be almost identical. And guess what, Windows didn't boot! I have tried reinstalling Windows 7 64 about three times (also with SP1), updated the BIOS to the current version (0122), but it still get no working graphics. (Unfortunately I don't know the different versions on the old system.) Please fix ASAP, because, as you can guess, my new system is of no value to me if I only can use it with the standard VGA driver in 800x600 resolution. If you have further questions about my system, don't hesitate to ask. CPU is 2100T, Memory is 2x2GB Kingston.

I've now waited for something to happen after I install the driver and reboot. After the Windows logo shows, the monitor blanks and nothing happens. But about 10 minutes later, I get this blue screen:

Please help!

Plug the computer in not through HDMI and roll back the intel driver version to the older version that came with your mobo or compter (as about 24 posts in this thread already instruct you to do). If you can't do that, remote in or as a last resort, reinstall windows and don't upgrade the graphics driver.

If the old Intel graphics driver contains too many problems for your system, go get a discrete GPU. The GT430 is fine for HTPC systms at $50-$80. Intel appears to have one developer working on these issues... and after 6 months, they are still 'struggeling' with the same bloody issues. So that should give you an indication as to what you are dealing with and the likelihood that it will get corrected any time soon.

I HAVE NOT plugged in the computer via HDMI.

Also NO old driver is working (tried about 5 different ones as mentioned above). So I can get NO driver to work at all (and I also have tried every VBIOS version). And I also have reinstalled windows four times.

Is it possible that the GPU component of the CPU is dead?

AFAIK video bios is combined with this BIOS.

In the release notes there are different "graphics ROM" listed:

For Example: Integrated Graphics Option ROM: Build 2111 PC 14.34

I downgraded to older BIOS versions (often recovery method is necessary, i.e. burn .BIO file to CD), but it still didn't help (and I wouldn't recommend it).

DVI is (almost) as bad as HDMI.

Try VGA if you can.

Yups:

2219 or 2291? are BOTH these drivers somehow significant (one works for some, other for others) or one # is just bad typing - in this case, what's the correct number?

I got the latest bios on mb but it was the upgrade to 2342 that solved my bsod problems. Previous version 2291..

Well I decided to go with a add-in video card and should be getting my Asus GT430 Low Profile card today in the mail.

This will hopefully solve all the issues I have left. - HDMI bluescreen with non-stable drivers, Boxee not displaying vid etc..

Please someone twitter me @LESLIEx317537 when they solve this issue. Even if it's 2 years from now. I want to see how this unfolds and how long it takes for intel to correct this issue. You would think such a large company could get things accomplished faster than this with all the resources they have.

I had the same blue screen issues as everyone else in this thread on my Asus P8H67-M Evo when attempting to get to the windows desktop on Win 7 x64; I was connected via HDMI. Interestingly enough, if I had WMC autostart, it's video would work just fine -- until I tried to quit out to the Windows Desktop and then boom - black screen of death. I recently downloaded and applied the 15.22.4.64.2418 version of the drivers and I can get to the Windows Desktop just fine -- however I have to set the resolution using the Intel utility and not the Windows one. Attempting to use the Windows utility to set the resolution just makes the resoultion default to 640x480, reguardless of what I actually set the value to. Also, when I set the resolution via the Intel utility, I do not see an option to turn over-scan off, which means that I lose about 5% on the edges of my desktop -- is there some way to turn overscan off?

Hi, everyone.

I have a same problem with HDMI. I installed the latest bios and all drivers available in intel download site, but my screen crashed and showed strips after 0-10 minutes of usage.

I downgraded the driver to the one most people said that it worked fine. However, I still got the same problem.

When I was reading these posts while running BIOS, I noticed that CPU temperature in bios (60 and slowly increased) differed significantly from Intel desktop utility display (around 35-40) .

I do believe that I installed CPU properly, but anyway I took my CPU off after I found that CPU temp steadly increased to 70C while running BIOS.

I am not able to install CPU to my computer because I do not have thermal paste now. So, I can't check the exact bios and ME numbers until I get it.

My configuration:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

MB:BOXDH67CLB3

Memory:GSKILL F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL

CPU: Core i5 2500K with retail cooler

PSU:850W RX-850AE

It's just sad that such a large world producers is not possible to release a stabil graphics driver in 4 months.

Until now it is nothing solved.

1. HDMI (most problem in this thread)

always BSOD and unstable

2. DVI (e.g. my problem)

always BSOD and never touched until now.

While 2361 and 2418 isn't working for him with DVI Output, the very old 2219 can do it. It's just unreal, such an old driver is still the best choice for a large group of people. They really messed up the drivers since then. Also, now the latest official driver (2361) is exactly three months old. Sure, we as poor Retail users are nothing for them but Intel can be sure many peoples will avoid Intel GPUs in future and buy other integrated solutions such as Llano or Trinity next year if they cannot provide stable drivers.

And not to forget the other problems (AF can't be forced in Direct3d games, Vsynch On/Off not working or not available and so on...)
