Hello,
I have bought a S3420 server board and want to create a RAID 5 out of several HDDs. I have set up the RAID in the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (Ctrl+I during boot). Now I want to install Debian on the machine. But the setup program doesn't show the RAID, but instead it shows all the HDDs as single drives. Why doesn't it show the RAID? And what would be the solution?
Thanks in advance,
David

Debian is an OS and for it to see your RAID you need drivers and the drivers for Intel RAID is only supported on Windows.

We are 2011 now, and when the Intel will support the most diffused server os GNU/Linux with driver for the Intel Matrix RAID5?
Thank you!
