Intel 965 Express Chipset Family will not upgrade to the latest drivers.

When I go into the the Intel Driver Utility Update program, it downloads the latest drivers, which is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* 7 (64).zip

The current driver I have is 8.15.10.1930. I'm trying to upgrade to 15.12.75.4.64.1930. The download of the drivers is fine, but when I install them, it will be fine for a few minutes. Then all of the sudden, my resolution will start to change and weird characters and pictures appear on my screen for a split second. Then maybe one minute later, it will say that the progress of getting the driver is "Failed". I have tried to do the installation about four times. I am using an Intel 965 Express Chipset Family integrated graphics card, along with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz. Any help would be appreciated, because I need this driver to play a certain game.

Cooperfive, would you please verify the exact chipset family of your system. Please check this link

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-009245.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-009245.htm

Could you please attach the DX Diag report for your system?

(Start -> Run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information).

I also recommend you to check if you are running the latest BIOS version available for your system.

BuffaloPatrick, thanks for the information.

The latest graphics driver available for your system will be the following https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18223 Intel® Download Center

I recommend you trying the Manual Driver Installation. Here are the steps: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-033916.htm Desktop graphics drivers — How to Manually Install a Driver in Microsoft Windows 8* or Windows 8.1*

You would need the zip file to perform the manual installation. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18231 Intel® Download Center
