Intel Arc B580 Frequent PC Freezing & Restart

Hello,

While playing any games or just browsing the web, my PC sometimes freezes, then the speakers makes weird noise, and then the PC restarts. It happens sometimes and I have read other forum about this exact issue (https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Honkai-star-rail-b580-restarting-pc-after-playing-for-some-time/m-p/1655509#M137340) but I couldn't find any fixes. My PSU is 450W which is below recommended for this GPU but after crashing once, if I use fur mark and any CPU stressing app together, nothing happens even after 10 mins and GPU reaches 150W +. And I can play the same game without any more crashing. It just happens sometimes unexpectedly.

My PC Specs:-

Processor: Intel i3 12100
GPU: Gunnir Photon Arc B580
Driver Version: 32.0.101.6559
RAM: 16 GB DDR4

PSU: Cooler Master MWE V2 450W
Storage: Nvme SSD HP

Hi Arhan_Hasan,

Thank you for posting on Intel Community Forum.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your Arc B580. Based on your initial post, the system randomly freezes then restarts and I'd like to get more information to address this properly. Please share the information below.

1. Was this working fine before or was the issue present from the start?

2. When it crashes, are you seeing any error messages?

3. Have you checked for any overheating?

4. Is the issue happening consistently (Every time the system is being used)?

Please generate SSU report for me to check your system configuration and components.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,

Hey,

1. First time the PC crashed is the first day of installing this card in my PC. It froze and restarted while playing a game.
2. No error messages when it crashes.
3. The max temperature I noticed is 76 degree Celsius while playing A Plague Tale Requiem and it crashed. After restarting I continued on playing the came and it ran fine later.
4. It happens sometimes, probable 4 times since I bought it on January.

And once it froze and restarted while browsing, no gaming. Also the speaker makes a noise when this happens.

Thank you for your time.

Hello Arhan_Hasan

Thank you for sharing additional information.

For further troubleshooting, please try to follow the troubleshooting steps below.

1. Use at least 650W power supply - Insufficient power can cause system instability, especially when running high-performance components like a GPU.

2. Reseat GPU - This can resolve issues caused by poor connections or dust interfering with the contacts.

3. If possible, try another GPU or try your GPU in another known working system - This is to further isolate the issue

4. Update Windows - Windows updates often include important fixes and improvements that can resolve compatibility and performance issues.

5. Check the Event Viewer for any error message that occur right after the system freezes/restarts - These logs can provide valuable clues about the underlying cause of the issue.

If the issue persists, could you please inform me of the speakers you are using where you are experiencing the unusual noise?

I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
