I am trying to install the latest Intel Arc graphics driver, but the installer throws the following error:
When I find and choose the missing file it immediately throws the second error in the screenshot. Any ideas how to resolve?
FYI, I am using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant to initialize the download/installation.
Other points:
- Intel driver version (attempting to install): 32.0.101.6449
- Windows 11 Pro: Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100
I can continue through the installation if I close these two windows, but not sure what I am messing up by not correcting this.

Yes, I have done a clean install since experiencing this issue (with previous versions as well). I have not done so in Admin mode. I can try in the next version when available.

Hello stanimal21,
Thank you for your response. I understand that you've already done Clean Installation with different drivers. Since you've not run it as admin yet, please let me know what would be the result when you do.
I look forward to your response

Hello stanimal21,
Thank you for your reply! To run the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA) as an administrator, right-click on the installer icon and select Run as Administrator. This method is recommended to ensure proper installation and functionality of the application.
If you have further questions or encounter other errors, kindly let me know.

I ran the Intel Driver and Support Assistant in Admin mode but the error persists. It still prompts for a missing MSI package that indeed exists.
Edit: I want to add that it displays that message immediately after extracting the installer, before installing the driver.

Hello stanimal21,
Thank you for your response. I understand that the issue still persists even if you ran the program as Administrator.
Kindly answer the additional following questions:
- Have you tried to download the missing installation package separately?
- May I know if your system is in organization controlled environment which limits driver installation unless approved by the IT management?
Additionally, I recommend downloading and installing the latest Arc Driver Version, 32.0.101.6458_101.6257, as the missing installation package is bundled with this driver version. This may help address the issue directly.
Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows*. Please send us the generated SSU.txt file.

Have you tried to download the missing installation package separately?
No I have not tried downloading the package manually, but that's not the problem: the missing package is available, but the installer refuses to use it.
May I know if your system is in organization controlled environment which limits driver installation unless approved by the IT management?
This machine is a personal machine, not managed by any IT department.
Additionally, I recommend downloading and installing the latest Arc Driver Version
I will try the manual install method and see if that works.
Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze important details on your system.
I attached the ssu.txt file to this response.

The direct download did not work either; it throws the same error message whether installing normally or with Admin privs.

Hello stanimal21,
Thank you for patiently waiting. Upon further review of your SSU Log, I have noticed that the latest graphics driver has been successfully installed.
To clarify, may I know when did this issue began? Was this functioning normally before?
For the issue being encountered, I would like you to try the following steps:
1. Download the latest graphics driver version 32.0.101.6460_101.6259 from the Intel Download Center.
2. Double-click the installer and allow it to fail. Do not restart your computer, even if prompted.
3. Download Microsoft Troubleshooter tool for fixing problems that block programs from being installed or removed
4. After downloading, uninstall the Intel® Graphics Software from the Apps and Features menu, which you can access by right-clicking Start.
5. Next, run the tool from Microsoft.
6. On the first menu, click Next.
7. After "Detecting Problems," select "Uninstalling" when asked if you are having a problem installing or uninstalling a program, even if you are trying to update or install the Intel® Graphics Software.
8. At the next prompt, choose the Intel® Graphics Software-related program from the list and click Next.
9. The tool will remove the parts of the Intel® Graphics Software that the installer couldn't remove from the registry. If the program is not listed, select "Not Listed," and the tool may still find the necessary registry pieces to remove.
10. Once the tool has completed its work, restart your machine and then install the latest graphics driver version 32.0.101.6460_101.6259, which you downloaded earlier.
If the issue persists, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Robbie R.

I encountered a weird issue when uninstalling the application you mentioned: the uninstaller twice prompted me to find an uninstaller file that it could not access but existed. It's the same error as before, very odd.

This problem is not blocking me from installing the driver, but the popup is annoying. You can close this issue; I don't want to spend any more time on it.
I would like to confirm if you have followed VARADHARAJAN's advice to install the missing MSI Installation Package
No, that's obviously a spam account. I am not installing a random piece of software from Google Drive.

Hello stanimal21,
Thank you for your response. I understand that you would want to close the case and I know that this has been an inconvenience to you. I would also like to inform you that upon reviewing your SSU Log, the latest Driver that we were trying to install before was installed. However, since the issue still persists with the Pop Up, I would need to gather more information so that we may address the issue you're encountering properly.
For further investigation, please answer the following questions:
- When did the pop-up started to arise?
- Are you using other software to update your Drivers? (Windows Update, IDSA, OEM Driver Assistant)
- Does this issue occur as well in installing other non-graphic drivers?
I look forward to your response!
Best Regards,
Robbie R.
