Hi,

Will Intel release a PRM for Arc GPUs? I noticed Arc isn't on this list: https://01.org/linuxgraphics/documentation

Cheers,

Miika Vihersaari

Hello EngineArtist,

We appreciate the feedback about it, upon checking we will be looking into the request for content but we can’t commit to a deadline though.

Nonetheless, you check some content here https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/ and depending on the type of programming you may be interested in exploring the supported APIs on Intel ARC products such as OneAPI https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/overview.html#gs.fkxdn3

Thank you for choosing Intel.

Best regards,

Hi Robert,

Thank you for your reply. I'll check out those links. The reason why I was asking about PRMs was because I'm thinking of writing a simple bare metal real-time OS that does hardware accelerated rendering. I'm currently doing this for an Intel NUC 11, which has an integrated Iris Xe Graphics GPU, but it would be really great to be able to write one for a discrete GPU.

Is there a forum or other communication channel for people that write bare metal drivers for Intel hardware?

Kind regards,

Miika Vihersaari

Hello EngineArtist,

I apologize for the misunderstanding, I am checking any places/platforms which you can collaborate in terms of creating writing bare metal drivers for discrete graphics if available, I will let you know as soon as I find out.

Do you need these for both graphical controllers integrated and discrete graphics too?

Best regards,

Hi Luis,

Sorry for the slow response. To answer your question: it would be nice to have them for both integrated and discrete. Thank you for looking into this!
