Intel DSA (Driver & Support Assistant) fails to install, and keeps repeating that a newer version is required.

I have not been able to successfully install DSA. It keeps repeating that a newer version is required, and prompts me to download. I have performed the following, with no luck. If anyone else has any ideas, please don't hesitate to make some suggestions.

1.) I have used the uninstaller tool to completely wipe it out. (  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28181/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant-Uninstaller)

2.) I have rebooted

3.) I have removed any remnants of the Intel Driver & Support Assistant folders under program files/program files (x86)

4.) I have used ccleaner to clean up any bogus registry entries

5.) I have tried installing with admin permissions.

6.) I have tried both Chrome and Edge.

Running Windows 10, 1809, HP Omen Laptop. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem and also took the similar actions. I was prompted to update my DSA & when nothing happened, I ran the uninstaller, went through all the troubleshooting, etc.

When I click the button to download the latest Intel Driver & Support Assistant (Version: 3.7.0.8, Release Date: 1/2/2019) from the following URL: <https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28425/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant?v=t>, I get redirected to an error page:

With all the Windows 10 headaches recently, I'm getting more frustrated by this DSA glitch than I probably should... BTW, I'm running Windows 10 Pro version 1809 build 17763.194 on an HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF x64-based PC. Everything else EXCEPT the Intel DSA is as up-to-date as possible at this point.

I am having this exact same issue even after directly downloading and installing DSA. By the way, you link goes nowhere.

After installing and running I just keep getting: A newer version of the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant is required.

No, sorry. Same result:

A newer version of the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant is required.

You must upgrade to the latest version to continue.

Just goes 'round and 'round like that no matter how many times I download and install it.

Hello TZott, Please attach to this thread the log files from Intel ® Driver & Support Assistant, you can either zip the whole folder or the log files individually, you can find the logs in the path below: C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA Also, please provide me with an System Support Utility report, this report can be generated from our tool, you can refer to the link below so you can download it:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- Make sure to attach the created report to this thread. I would also like to request a screenshot showing the error message or problem that keeps popping up, this would be a good reference to pinpoint the cause of this situation. Quick update. I got a pop-up notification from the Intel DSA running in my system tray that 5 updates were available. I clicked on it and a web broswer opened up. However, it was to the same page that said I needed to download the updated version of DSA.

Hello all, There appears to be some confusion about Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) support, and I apologize for any inconvenience. If you have an OEM system or third-party system, we recommend contacting the system manufacturer for the latest drivers and/or their Driver/Software update application (i.e.: Support Assist) since they will provide they will be validated for your system. IDSA was designed primarily for Intel systems such as the Intel® NUCs, Intel® Compute Sticks, etc. Please check the following article: Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) Is Not Working Properly https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000026895/software/software-applications.html If you are using an Intel® system and having problems, please confirm/provide the following so that we can help you: 1. Confirm components installed are supported for your system (i.e.: memory amount, speed, voltage, etc.). Select or search for your product from the following page for the Product Specifications. https://ark.intel.com/#@BoardsAndKits 2. If your BIOS is really outdated (by more than a few versions), we recommend updating the BIOS incrementally or in stages to a version closer than the latest. Select or search for your product from the following page for the Product Specifications and then select the link to Drivers and Software (left side). https://ark.intel.com/#@BoardsAndKits 3. Confirm your system has the latest Windows update for current version installed (no need to update the release). NOTE: Some Intel® Graphics Drivers may require an updated Windows Release. Please refer to the Read Me (txt) file for the specific driver. 4. Uninstall the current IDSA using the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant Uninstaller from the following page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28181/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant-Uninstaller 5. Reboot and install the latest Intel® Driver & Support Assistant from the following page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24345/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant?product=128824 6. If you an issue updating a specific driver with IDSA, we recommend manually installing it to see if the issue is with IDSA or the driver. If you can manually install the driver, then please provide us the details from step 7. If you cannot manually install the driver, we recommend contacting Support directly via phone or chat for hands on support: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html 7. If you continue to have issues installing IDSA or updating any drivers after performing the above, please provide the following; or you can contact Support directly via phone or chat for hands on support: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/contact-support.html A. Provide a print screen of the error or message. B. Provide a copy of the SSU (available for Windows and Linux) Downloads for Intel® System Support Utility https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/91600/Intel-System-Support-Utility C. Provide a zip copy of all IDSA log files. Windows location: C:\ProgramData\Intel\DSA [zip all files in this folder] **If you cannot see the ProgramData folder, select View from the explorer window and check Hidden Items If you are not using an Intel® system but would like to help improve Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA), you can provide the same details above, but we would not be able to guarantee if or when an update will be provided. The situation has not improved and no one has offered a solution. Now the Intel DSA nrunning in the system tray pops up every day telling me I have 5 updates. I click on it and the web-site opens telling me a need the download and install the newest version of DSA. EVERYTIME.

This is not longer a minor inconvenience. I now NEED a way to update these drivers.

Hello, was a successful solution to this issue ever proposed? I am having the same problem in 2020, having tried all above suggestions to no avail.

DSA prompts new version install needed; download prompts uninstall; successful uninstall and reinstall continues to bring up prompt for new version. Have tried all different uninstallers and trouble shooters. Restarting system, clearing browser cache, and above-mentioned uninstall/install attempts have made no difference in outcome.

DSA pop-up indicates 3 driver updates ready, so it seems to be working in some capacity. Unfortunately clicking that prompt leads back to square one and the cycle continues.

Hoping you have since found a resolution
