Intel® Display Audio Driver gone after Windows cumulative update

Hello everybody,

After the recent Windows cumulative update (Win 8.1 and 10), the Intel® Display Audio has completely disappeared from Device Manager - Sound Video and Game controllers. Because of this the sound is not transmitted anymore trough the HDMI.

This happened on my Thinkpad T430 with Windows 10 and Intel HD 4000 but also on my friend`s laptop, Thinkpad T430s with Windows 8.1 and Intel HD 4000.

I tried re-installing the latest graphics drivers, sound drivers, roll black to older versions, flash the latest bios, but no success. The device is not seen anymore by the plug and play. I also tried to add the display audio driver manually but also no success.

I don't know if this is an issue of the driver for the Intel HD 4000 or if a new Windows update will fix it.

Cheers!

You may need to load the latest video drivers for your graphics controller. The display audio driver is included on the graphics driver.

This is the link for the latest video drivers: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25188/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-64bit-3rd-Gen-BYT- Intel® Download Center Windows 64 bit

Thanks for the answer. I have the latest driver as you can see from the screenshot.

The problem is that the Intel Display Audio is not present in the Device Manager after the latest windows update (see screenshot). It was showing up before in the Sound Video and Game Controllers like this:

but now is gone:

Hi mirondanro,

Could you please give us a update of your case? Are you still having the issues? If problem continues please let me know your troubleshooting. Did you run Lenovo update utility?

Hi Mink,

Video and Audio issues are affected by the operating system version, drivers, graphics card version, chipset compatibility and other factors.

I suggest you create a new thread and fill the sticky note according to your system configuration and behavior.

This thread is old now.
