The mainboard, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (Wi-Fi), does have an ASUS Radeon RX 570 video card on it. This is not an issue (yet) but am just curious why the install keeps failing and is there some way around this?

The install is likely failing because the board utilizes a customized version of the Intel HD Graphics driver. You cannot install the standard version of the Intel HD Graphics driver over a customized version. If this is the case, you should use *only* versions of the driver package released by Asus.

Check the ASUS bios to determine if it allows BOTH your Radeon card and Intel processor graphics to be active concurrently.
Also, check with ASUS on how to update THEIR bios.

Thanks for the replies. I have checked with ASUS and got the driver update for the graphics on the board. I made an erroneous assumption that Intel would update something labeled Intel. Oh, well. Maybe the Support Assistant will calm down. Again, thanks.
