Need Help!

I got a H87 motherboard with CPU i5 4570 , Windows 8.

I tried to connect to Dell 27" U2713HM monitor by hdmi, but I cannot set the resolution to 2560x1440.

I have double check the motherboard manual which said it support up to 4k by hdmi.

and I upgraded the Intel HD graphic driver to the newest version.

But I still could not set the resolution to 2560x1440.

In the Intel graphic control panel and Win 8 resolution setting, it only show up to 1080p in the resolution pull down menu.

I could only selection resolution up to 1080o only.

Would anyone can help me, how can I set the resolution to 2560x1440, which should be supported by the Intel HD 4600.

Thank all for the help

Jacky

I have the Intel HD 4600 (in processor i7 4771) plugged into an Asus Z87A. With the DisplayPort connection I do not have any issue to set my monitor to 2560x1440 at 60Hz in Windows 8.1.

Hi I am going crazy trying to get my new system to run my Dell U3011. It's definitely the video output issue cause I even bought a HDMI to D-DVI link cable which works instantly when coming out of my Retina Macbook Pro HDMI. I plug it in, and it just works at native 2560x1600 resolution. The HD 4600 is not even letting my do 1920x1200, stuck at 1600x1200.

I've updated to the latest drivers from intel. Can you please give some advice, this is not monitor related, not cable related.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte ga-b85m-d3h

1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 @ 24 Hz / 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz

Hi koruki,

I am sorry you are having this problem. Please note that Mac computers use special and customized drivers so the best option is to contact your Computer Manufacture for them to help you with the correct configuration and drivers for it.

Hi I have no problem with my Mac, it works instantly. My problem was with the Gigabyte MB using the Intel HD4600. Anyway its been fixed now, I used intel's drivers which is why it doesn't work.

I had to go find the gigabyte driver. buy a HDMI 1.4 to D-DVI cable to make it work.

@ Jason, The Dell U3011 supports a maximum of 1920x1200 @ 60 HZ when connected via HDMI cable. I would recommend using a High Speed HDMI cable to be used with the U3011 and the Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H. Do not use a DVI to HDMI adapter or cable. Here is the table of supported resolutions from the Dell Support site for the U3011:

Hi Robert,

I actually tried what you suggested very early on and it didn't work( maybe intel drivers issue). I ended up buying a HDMI 1.4 to D-DVI cable and it worked after changing drivers around to an old driver from gigabyte. The annoying thing is that the DVI output doesn't support dual link. The HDMI didn;t work althought I will try again because nothing worked using intels HD 4600 driver.

Hello all!

I have the same problem, can't use 2560x1440 (which is nativ to my display). There are the adapter infos: http://clip2net.com/s/iXPfN4 File Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600.txt

I don't see any option for 2560x1440 in the display resolution settings. Only 1920x1080 and lower.

Would very much appreciate some help!

thanks,

Denis.
