Intel HD 530 with frequent Video_TDR_Failure

I recently build a system with following specs:

Intel Core i5-6500 6MB Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1151 65W BX80662I56500 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 530 1

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (2 x 8G) 260-Pin DDR4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000) Laptop Memory Model F4-2133C15D-16GRS 1

ASRock Deskmini 110W Intel Socket LGA1151 Intel H110 2 x 260Pin SO-DIMM

Samsung 850 evo

Running Windows 10

I am getting frequent Video_TDR_Failures. I had updated to the most recent integrated graphics drivers, but with those my system was unusable - it would BSOD/crash every few minutes. I reverted to the dekmini mobo's default video driver VGA(v21.20.16.4542) which typically allows me to at least use my system. But if i try to game (starcraft II, low settings), or even if I'm watching a youtube video, I can end up witht his Video_TDR_Failure.

I tried the intel processor diagnostic tool, and my system froze right after the GPU test (said pass), but then on the CPU stress i got the video_TDR_Failure.

Please help

Just wanted to give an update:

I posted on the Windows 10 forum over at Microsoft They recommended a clean install from a bootable drive with the latest version of windows. Still numerous crashes. Tech support over there agreed this was likely hardware. So in Mid November I called Intel to officially start the RMA process. I must commend Intel support, it was a smooth process. They waived the fee for a cross-ship RMA and I had a chip in hand the next day.

There was definitely something wrong with the chip, because my system has been much more stable since exchanging chips. I immediately ran prime 95 stress test, and I was able to complete about 90 minutes of stressing with no events. I could not even get to 30 seconds with the prior chip.

I wish I could say that the system is totally rock solid, but I still do get an occasional crash. Almost always happens in Starcraft 2. That said, it never happens during actual gameplay. It typically happens while navigating battle.net (pre or post-game). Really odd. In the past the system would crash constantly during gameplay. So I tested this current system a little more, including 24 hours of memtest 86 with no events, and 9 hours of prime 95 (1000+ "tests", no events). I updated to the most recent HD 530 driver recently and haven't had an event since, so maybe that was driver/software related? Fingers crossed. I wish I had no crashes since the new chip, but alas its not entirely so. That said, my system is now stable enough for work and light gaming (with maybe an occasional bug/crash). Hope it stays that way.

In summary, I do believe that the cause of my original problems was related to a faulty i5 chip.

I appreciate all the help from this forum and Intel tech support - really seamless experience. My next system will most certainly be an Intel system - keep up the good work in this department! That said, I am hesitant to rely on onboard graphics for anything other than office related work. For any gaming, no matter how light/how low settings you play, I really think a dedicated GPU is the way to go.
