I have a i7 8700k CPU coupled with a MSI Z370 Carbon Pro motherboard. When connecting the motherboard to my display via HDMI I don't see the Intel HD audio driver. It was there yesterday but when rebooting my PC it disappeared. I manually downloaded Intel Graphics 630 driver and installed it, but I still don't see the Intel HD Audio option. Not sure what to do. How can a set that audio option?

Okay. I figure it out. In case anyone wants to use dedicated GPU for video and motherboard hdmi for audio with this setup, you need to clone desktops. Extended makes Intels audio driver vanish.

This PC is a new build. I just put it together two days ago.
CPU- i7 8700K
RAM- Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 PC-24000 16GB 2x8GB CL15
MOBO- MSI z370 carbon pro.
GPU- MSI gaming 6 980Ti
CPU Cooler- Thermaltake Riing Silent 12 Pro CPU Cooler
SSD- Samsung 850 evo
OS- Windows 10 pro
PSU- Corsair RM750X 750W
The Intel HD audio driver only popped for a moment and then disappeared after a reboot.
I'm looking for the audio driver in the Windows audio settings. Here:
There's no HDMI audio from the motherboard to select.

Looking into the information of your system I see that you are currently using the graphics driver version .4758, you can try to complete a driver update to the version .4982.
Please follow these steps in order to update the graphics driver:
- Download the graphics driver ZIP file: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27650/a08/win64_15.65.5.4982.zip https://downloadmirror.intel.com/27650/a08/win64_15.65.5.4982.zip
- Unzip the file to a designated location or folder.
- Right-click Windows Start icon and open Device Manager.
- Click "Yes" when prompted for permission from User Account Control.
- Expand the Display adapters section.
- Right-click the Intel® graphics entry and select Update Driver Software.
- Click "Browse my computer for driver software".
- Click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
- Click "Have Disk".
- Click "Browse".
- Access the designated location or folder, and access a folder called "Graphics".
- Select the file called "igdlh64" or "igdlh".
- Click Open, then click OK, and finally click "Next". Drivers are now being installed.
- Reboot your computer.
- And let me know if you have any issues with the installation.

Hi,
My current drivers are the ones from MSI's web page. But I've also tried the latest version from Intel's web. I even did a clean wipe with DDU from Guru3D. And tried both versions clean. Still no HDMI audio. I will try again though, and let you know. Thanks for your time.

Okay so this is what's happening.
If I remove my GPU from the motherboard and install Intel's drivers, it will work correctly and I'll be able to select Intel's HD audio. But as soon as a place back my GPU inside, the driver will be gone. This was not the case with my previous PC (Z77+ 2700K), I could have my GPU and still use Intel's HD audio. (enabling internal graphics in bios) I'm not sure if this is deliberate now or if there's something wrong. Could be something about this motherboard.
