I have the Lenovo Yoga 13 w/i7, 8GB RAM, and Integrated Intel HD 4000. The Directv2pc works no problem on other systems but not this new Lenovo. Any advice on how to enable the screen capture protection? Let me know if any debugging info is desired. Thanks.

@nic
I guess I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure everyone here is working under that knowledge and we are all connected to same network connection as our DVR.

Nine more days and nothing from Nic. I doubt this issue will be resolved, and Intel obviously does not care.

I have this issue, as well. Sad that there is no reply. This graphics chip from Intel has been out for quite awhile. I'm surprised there is no fix, yet. Given that there hasn't been a reply for quite some time to this, I'm guessing the only resort is to go with an add-on graphics card.

@nic: After selecting the "High Contrast Theme", playing a video (both SD and HD) did not prompt the error dialogue any longer. The video began to play, but with only audio and no video--black screen only. Playback controls were available and when I hit FastForward, I could see the video, but when I pressed play it went back to a black screen. I also tested with a lower resolution and received the same results.
Thanks for your continued efforts on this issue.

Another confirmation... I have a Dell XPS 2710 all-in-one. I also get the message from DirecTV2PC regarding the screen capture issue. I have just updated the driver from Dell's site, but have not restarted. I'll check again once I do that, but I am doubtful it will make a difference based on the information in this thread. Also, my system is showing the connector type is EDP.
Also, a big thanks to Intel for actually responding on the thread with updates. It sucks that it isn't working, but it's awesome commitment to the customers (at least so far... so keep it up please).

Hello everyone,
I've got some unfortunate news. I've recently learned that the company which supports this software, Cyberlink*, is no longer updating the application, which has resulted in a loss of support for our products. DirecTV* in turn, is not actively seeking an update to this application as well.
A detailed explanation from one of our engineers follows, let me know if there are any questions on it;
"Intel's Windows 8 drivers only support OS methods to protect video content. The current version of DirecTV2PC software only attempts to use old proprietary methods on Intel hardware.
Other vendors are still using the same methods they did on previous OSes. (either OS or their own proprietary methods which are compatible with Windows 8).
In any case, Intel does not support the older proprietary methods that were used in Windows 7.
Unfortunately, DirecTV2PC only attempts to use old proprietary methods on Intel hardware.
This is not something that Intel can fix. Intel's old proprietary interfaces are incompatible with Windows 8."
What I would now advise, would be that you - as DirecTV* & indirectly Cyberlink* customers, contact them both and provide feedback as well as a request from them to update their application. I've provided links below for you to do this as well. Additionally, any feedback you leave here - I will take note of.
DirecTV*: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/contact_us Contact Us - DIRECTV* Contact Info & Tech Support
Cyberlink*: http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/company/enu/cyberlink-offices.jsp CyberLink* Worldwide Offices | CyberLink*
Thank you for your patience, sorry we were unable to fix the issue.

I for one truly appreciate the extent to which you've addressed this issue, Nic. Thank you.
OK, everyone...it's time to make a concerted effort to get DirecTV to update their product.

Nic:
I purchased an Aspire V5-571p laptop with intel HD 4000 graphics, which I was hoping to use Directv2pc with.
After installation, I experienced the issue of screen capture protection not supported error. Searching the internet, I found this forum, which seems to address the issue.
I contacted Directv by email, and received a standard reply. I called them and talked with a technician, who after checking, was not aware of a problem. He said he would submit the problem up the chain. My experience with Directv, would suggest that for your complaint to be dealt with, you need to call,(1-800-531-5000) and talk with a technician and insist that it is a problem with the software.
After reading your description of the problem Nic, that it is related to the Win 8 drivers ( my laptop came with Win8), I installed WinXP onto the laptop, with Intel HD 4000 WinXP drivers, hoping that should resolve the problem. After the installation, and installing Directv2pc onto the WinXP install, I got the exact same screen capture protection not supported error. Is this consistent with the engineers explanation of the problem? I would have thought that the WinXP driver would support the older proprietary methods.

Hi Brad,
Does your system with XP have all of it's updated and service packs installed? It needs to have SP2 installed at the very least in order for it to work. Additionally, which driver is installed? Are you only experiencing the problem with recorded playback? Or also with live TV?
Thanks,
-Nic

The problem presents exactly the same as with the installation on Win8, The program starts and runs without a problem, but when I try to play a recording it will not playback the recording, I get the same window opening with the same message:
Directv2PC cannot display this video because your graphics card does not currently support screen capture protection for protected content. Try updating your graphics card driver or modify your driver settings.
The program only allows playback of programs being recorded or recorded on the DVR, but does not allow watching live programing.
Thanks for you quick response, let me know if you have any additional question,
Brad Falk

Are you attempting to display HDCP content on your laptop screen, or on an externally connected display?

Additionally, can you try running the advanced mode of this Cyberlink* application (bluray tester)
http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/bd-support/diagnosis.do CyberLink Blu-ray Disc Support
Can you post a screenshot of the report when it finishes as well? I'm curious to see what it says about your systems HDCP compatability.
Thanks again,

Nic:
I was attempting to display the content on the laptop display no external display was attached.
The reason I installed WinXP, was to use the directv2PC program, I have restored Win8. I did keep a image from the winxp installation, so if you believe it would be important to perform some additional dx, I could do that, but I will be busy tomorrow.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the updates Brad. If you go to your graphics control panel (ctrl + alt + f12) and look at the system information for your built-in display (via dropdown), does it say it has the connection type; eDP, or LVDS?
