Hi everyone,
I have got a HP laptop (EliteBook Folio 1040) configured with Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bits and having a Intel HD Graphics 4400.
No matter what resolution I select that I see a continuous flicking on the image, as if the refresh rate was very low in spite of I selected the maximum refresh rate supported by this graphic card (60hz). I tested it with resolutions 1366x768, 1600x900 and 1280x720.
These are all the tests I have done:
a. Last version Driver 10.18.14.4251 (win64_153623), all resolutions, windows 7 -> flicking issue
b. Previous version Driver 10.18.14.4139, all resolutions, windows 7 -> flicking issue
c. Intel driver provided by laptop manufacturer (HP sp71151), all resolutions, windows 7 -> flicking issue
d. I installed Ubuntu 14.04 in any resolution -> no flicking issue, it works fine.
e. I installed the generic driver standard VGA of Windows 7 -> no flicking issue, it works fine. Although this generic driver is not useful for me as I can not extend desktop to external monitor and I can not select the resolution 1368x768. Only 1600x900 and 1024x768 resolution are allowed with that driver.
Any idea how to solve it.
Many thanks.

Hi everyone,
Finally I have found out the cause of flicking. The Intel driver is set in the Windows 7 energy plan to save energy configuring a bad screen refresh rate when the laptop is using the battery.
I configured in the Windows 7 energy plan the options of Intel Graphics Settings to 'Maximum Performance' and now there is not flicking no matter if it uses the laptop battery o it is plugged.
Best regards.
