Intel HD Graphics 4400 video playback corruption

I've been noticing video playback corruption for a few weeks now. Also happens in other applications, including the standard Windows 10 media player. It seems like the video's luma layer is stretched horizontally (or vertically for vertical videos).

I tried installing many other driver versions (I tried 4256, 4279, 4300, 4331 and even 4380 beta), but none solve the issue. Strangely, the issue only seems to happen while connected to the charger. On battery power video playback is fine. Perhaps it's caused by installing a Windows 10 update?

Sony Vaio Pro 13 (bought in 2014)

OS: Windows 10 64-bit (10.0.10586)

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4010U CPU @ 1.70GHz

GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400

RAM: 8GB DDR3

Just came across the solution elsewhere. Turns out you can fix it by disabling Sony's X-Reality for mobile video quality enhancement option in the Vaio Control Center.
