[Intel HD Graphics 530] Is Intel HD Graphics 530 compatible with DP 1.2? (So it is possible to use 4 Individual desktops on 2 DisplayPorts with 4 monitors)

Hi, i have a little question about the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 card:

Does it fully support all DisplayPort 1.2 features?

What i need is the MST (Multi-Stream-Transport) - Feature where i can use a single DisplayPort to display 2 individual desktops on 2 monitors connected in a chain to create a total of 4 desktops with the 2 DisplayPorts of the integrated Intel HD 530 Graphics card.

Thanks in advance,

Peter

Suter, Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Graphics communities.

To answer your question, the maximum quantity of displays supported simultaneously on the Intel® HD 530 graphics controller are 3, so the option to use 4 monitors will not be available, as you can confirm on the following link, look for graphics specifications:

http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz http://ark.intel.com/products/88195/Intel-Core-i7-6700K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz

Also, please check the following document, it is the datasheet for Intel® HD 530 graphics controller and it shows the multiple displays configuration supported, page 42:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/desktop-6th-gen-core-family-datasheet-vol-1.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/desktop-6th-gen-core-family-datasheet-vol-1.html

Additionally on the link below you will find further information about a triple display configuration:

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005556.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005556.html

Now, if you need 4 monitors you can use a dual display configuration on one PC and then the same configuration on another PC, you will need to use 2 desktop PC's though, and remember that the different formats for you to choose on this scenario are: single, clone, extended and collage.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Alberto
