Intel HD Graphics Control Panel language changes by itself

Our company uses Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 64-bit EN-US. Windows display language is EN-US. Default app language in Win10 is EN-US. However, the systems running this OS are located in Greece; and when the Locale gets changed to 'Greece', the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel language gets immediately changed to Greek, too (in spite of Default app language and Windows display language remaining EN-US). But the problem here is, we do NOT want the Intel CP to have any other language than EN-US. This change happens without our input, without our consent, without our intervention. We're also attaching the Intel CP system report; it says that Greek is the system language — but it is NOT. Please help us solve and forever put an end to this extremely counter-productive nuisance.

Hello Zazula, Thank you for posting on the Intel® Communities. The driver version that you currently have installed(.5059) only supports these versions: Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Anniversary Update, Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Creators Update, Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Fall Creators Update. You can check this here: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28164/eng/ReadMe64.txt You can try any other versions availabe from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/81499/Intel-HD-Graphics-4000, but the issue can continue since the other versions do not support Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019. You could also contact Microsoft and your computer manufacturer to get the right driver version for your Windows version and system. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us Amy C Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation

Dear Amy,

Thank you for your response.

Don't be intimidated by the fact that these machines have the LTSC flavor of Win 10 Enterprise installed, since that is simply an indicator for the way they get Feature Updates (or, rather, they way they don't); in reality they simple run on Windows 10 1809 (10.0.17763.194).

Now you're saying that driver .5059 does not support the 1809 Win10. I suppose there's another driver version available, which does, isn't it? For I highly doubt you've got no driver for 1809! And please keep in mind that we only install what the Intel Driver & Support Assistance suggests for our machines.

HOWEVER —and this is a huge however— I even more highly doubt that the driver has anything to do with it. Because, you know, we've got a whole host of machines in our company, running a variety of Windows versions: 7 Professional x64, 7 Ultimate x64, 8.1 Pro x64, 10 Enterprise x64 (non-LTSC). In all cases the OS is en_us. All programs ask when they get installed for us to choose an interface language, in all cases we choose en_us. The Intel HD Graphics (as well as the Nvidia Control Panel) are installed together with the OS, and initially are en_us, too. But as soon as we change the Locale to Greek, they get transformed to Greek UI — in the entirety of said OS spectrum. And we do NOT want this; our technicians need to read English, not Greek. At least Nvidia provided us with a workout, so we fixed that. However, for Intel the lack of control on the UI language is extremely frustrating, and utterly unacceptable for any organization with international activity.

So, the question is: Is there a way to exercise any control on the UI language for the Intel HD Graphics driver, and force it to be the same as the OS — other than changing the Locale?

Or, as an alternative workaround, a possible solution might be having a single-language en_us driver file available, rather than a multi-language one. Please...

Intel Driver & Support Assistance may have a problem and that's why is recommending that update for that OS version. I will report this to the product team. We understand what you mentioned, but based on the ReadMe and the Release Notes files only the operating systems Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Anniversary Update, Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Creators Update, Microsoft Windows* 10-64 - Fall Creators Update are supported. Regarding the issue, from our end there is no documentation to force the graphics control panel to have same version as the OS. Thanks for your answer, Amy. However, you're saying that "there is no documentation to force the graphics control panel to have same version as the OS", while in fact everywhere it is documented that " the Intel® Graphics Control Panel will use the same language of the operating system; it is not possible to use one language for the operating system and a different language on the Intel® Graphics Control Panel." https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D70P0000069GJoSAM

We apologize for the delay due mostly with our engineers working high priority issues combined with Holiday season. We're looking into this, but we need more information from the affected system. Can you please provide the following information? 1. Intel® System Support Utility report: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows- 2. DxDiag report 3. Provide screenshots for how the specific locale regional and language settings are set to. Also, check if you have installed any additional Language Pack for Windows vs. Default OS image language. Amy C Intel Customer Support Technician Under Contract to Intel Corporation
