The PC and Intel HD Graphics driver have worked flawlessly under Windows 10 Pro up until the installation of Microsoft's Windows 10 Creators update. I first saw this with a recent push of the spring version of the Creators update. I tried manually adding in the fall version. Same results.
After the driver fails to load, Windows 10 reverts to Basic mode.
In basic mode, I cannot run dual monitors (VGA and HDMI) simultaneously.
I have run Dell's update utility and Intel's update utility - everything is up to date.
I have tried pretty much everything suggested in similar threads.
I can unrolled the Windows 10 Creators update and the driver functions without issue.
I have seen where others have reported similar problems with different flavors of HD Graphics HW (3000,4000,5000)
My device properties shows my HW as "HD Graphics" with no series indicated.

Hi vaguy: Thank you very much for contacting the Intel® Graphics communities. We will do our best in order to assist you with this scenario.
In regard to your case, we always recommend to install the graphics driver provided by the manufacturer of the PC, in this case Dell, since that driver was customized by them to work with your specific platform. Please install driver version 15.200.1039:
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-660/drivers http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-660/drivers
I noticed on Dell's web site that there is no Intel driver showing, just for AMD, that usually means that the graphics controller on your PC is supported by AMD, but that is something that you can always confirm with Dell directly. Just in case you can also try driver 4653, since the Intel® i3-3240 processor is compatible with it:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26813/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=65690 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26813/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=65690
http://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/us/en/04/contactus/dynamic http://www.dell.com/support/incidents-online/us/en/04/contactus/dynamic
And if the problem gets fixed that way, then we advice to disable the Windows updates, on the following link you will find suggestions of how to do that or otherwise you can always get in contact directly with Microsoft to gather the instructions:

I installed the Dell Driver per your request.
But that is strictly for Radeon graphics cards which I don't have.
With the Radeon driver installed(and current Intel driver uninstalled), Windows chooses to use an older Intel driver 10.18.10.4358 (which also crashes) and finally reverts to its Basic Display Driver.
You then suggest I use 10.18.10.4653
Well that's a good thought, but if you look at my initial post, you will see that is what is crashing and prompted my post in the first place.
My PC was working before the Creators update.
Microsoft is doing something that is causing the Intel driver to crash.
I've seen many other post with different flavors of the onboard Intel HD Graphics chip report similar problems.
Please don't point the finger at AMD.
What can I provide to help.

vaguy: Thank you very much for providing that information.
In regard to your inquiry, yes, there are some problems reported after doing the Windows update, at this point what we recommend is to use the Microsoft driver, the basic display driver or an older version of the graphics driver provided by the Dell or that you might find in our web site, then after that ,we suggest to disable the Windows updates to try to fix the problem.
Additionally, as mentioned previously, you can always get in contact with Dell to confirm which is the graphics controller working on your laptop, because according to their web site it belongs to AMD. If you confirm the complete model of the laptop, I can always double check on this matter again.
Any questions, please let me know.

To answer your question.
I have been running the Intel HD graphics driver since I upgraded to Windows 10 (probably since the day I purchased it with Windows 7), The Dell Support Assistant says I have all of the latest drivers.
Dell Inpsiron 660
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3240 CPU @ 3.40Ghz 3.40
Windows 10 Pro 1709 OS Build 16299.125 64bit OS
I've auto-installed Windows 10 Creator Fall Edition on 3 PCs.
No problems on 2 of the 3.
Dell 580 i3-530 with Intel Driver 8.15.10.2900
Dell 660 i3-3220 with Intel Driver 10.18.10.4358
But On my Dell 660 i3-3240 the Intel driver(s) crash
It has failed on Intel HD Graphics drivers 10.18.10.4252, 10.18.10.4358 and 10.18.10.4653.
It is working on my other Dell 660 (the only difference is the processor (an i3-3220 vs the i3-3240 on the failing PC)
I've run all updates from Microsoft, Dell and Intel. I've run an "sfc /scannow"
I can revert back to a pre-Creators version of Windows 10 and the Intel HD Graphics drivers behave themselves.
I'm at a loss.
The fault seems to lie with igd10iumd64.dll
How can I assist Intel in debugging this?
Rolling back to an older version of Windows 10 and turning off updates seems counter-intuitive.
Here is what I see.
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0152&SUBSYS_05811028&REV_09\3&11583659&0&10 requires further installation.

I'm not sure what you are talking about in your email I received at 5:11 ET 12/27/2017
I posted the files you wanted. You replied thanks and we will do further research.
Two hours later I get the email below without a corresponding post on the communities.intel.com thread.
I am stuck waiting on a solution (ie I need an updated driver that doesn't crash or a workaround).
Here is the email I received
vaguy: I just wanted to check if the information posted previously was useful for you and if you need further assistance on this matter?
Any questions, please let me know.

This loads the same driver as I have been running and have been getting a Code 43 with.
The win64_153345.4653.zip file contains the Intel graphics Driver 10.18.10.4653
In the past, I downloaded the .exe and ran that.
Just to be on the safe side I used device manager, removed the device including its driver.
I the updated the driver manually from the win64_153345.4653.zip file.
Looking at properties after installing from the zip file, it shows 4/7/2017 10.18.10.4653
Did your support team even look at the material I sent?
The SSU Output.txt file would have shown I was using 10.18.10.4653 already

The ReadMe file in the win64_153345.4653.zip file shows
Release Version: Production Version
Driver Version: 15.33.45.64.4653
Intel(R) Graphics Driver: 10.18.10.4653
Intel(R) Display Audio Driver: 6.16.0.3154
Release Date: April 21, 2017
So, there is not a Graphics Driver 15.33.45.4653 in the win64_153345.4653.zip file. Only the 10.18.10.4653
I believe I told you this on Jan 4th
And I also told you that I reinstalled the drivers based on the link you provided me (to the win64_153345.4653.zip file).

vaguy: I just received an update on this matter, based on the fact that Windows® 10 Creator's Fall Edition is working fine on 2 out of 3 PCs it indicates that the problem is not with the driver itself, since the same version is working fine with RS3 on other similar PC. Error code 43 has been seeing occurring if the system is connected to or using a USB HUB, docking, adapter, converter. If you are using any of those components please remove them and try again with the latest driver.
If issue persists, do you have the option to try a clean Windows® RS3 installation?
Any questions, please let me know.
