Intel HD4600 custom resolution on HP 2335 monitor

Is there any way to get intel to recognize my HP 2335 monitors native resolution of 1920x1200 @ 60htz?

Adding it through CustomModeApp.exe does not work I get an error saying I've exceeded the bandwidth.

Monitor is working fine in 1600x1200 4:3 aspect ratio @ 60htz, but 1920x1200 16:10 is not available.

1920x1080 is available but it looks awful and blurry.

CPU is a Core i3 4340, with Asus Z87M-Plus motherboard.

Sorry for the double post

With a little more searching I've found my drivers out of date. However I cannot update them. Drivers are on the Asus dvd that shipped with the motherboard.

Any attempt to update gives me an error.

Pointing to the drivers from the manual zip folder gives me an error also. It says windows is using the best driver for the device.

Hi hr186s, I have a few suggestions that might work:

It is highly recommended to do a clean installation; so, please remove the older version first. If you are still getting the same error message try sharing the verbatim with us. Another available option is getting the drivers from the http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Z87M-PLUS&os=8 system manufacturer's website.

My final suggestion, but not less important, will be to get the proper driver for the monitor so it can load the correct EDID since right now is identified as Generic PnP monitor.

Here is what I've done so far since this morning.

Ran windows update and installed SP1 to Windows 7.

Downloaded an updated driver from the asus support page

It updated the driver to Version 10.18.10.3412.

Downloaded and installed HP L2335 .inf file manually. Device manager now recognizes the HP 2335

Downloaded latest Intel driver from here:

It automatically detected I needed the driver you mentioned above.

I uninstalled the old driver and the .exe said it was Version 15.33.18.64.3496. But when it came to actually installing it, it installed the 10.18.10.3496 driver.

 

At a loss here... I'll have a go with manual installation tomorrow.

I managed to get it working in 1920x1200 through DVI and not the VGA cable.

VGA to analog DVI on the monitor works in 1920x1200 as does DVI to DVI.

Straight VGA to VGA however does not work. Which is very surprising.

The monitor has worked in this mode on these graphics cards in the past

Nvidia 7900 GTX, Nvidia 9800 GTX, Nvidia 7300GS, Nvidia 7800GS, ATI HD4850, all ran VGA > VGA 1920x1200 fine.

I run 2 pcs off this monitor the gaming rig and this internet box. Was hoping to get away with no graphics card but it looks like I'll have to lay some money down to get one or a KVM DVI switch.

So, that was the missing link. It may or may not work with a KVM; instead you may use an active converter if possible.
