Intel Iris XE graphic limits external monitor to 120hz?

Hi, so I have an HP laptop which has an intel i5-11300h cpu with integrated graphics and which also has an rtx 3050 laptop gpu, to which I have attached via hdmi 2.1 a LG UltraGear 24GQ50F-B 165hz monitor. In this context, the external monitor's display can't access more than 120hz probably because of the integrated card that limits it. Can you give me solutions to make it run at least on 144hz if it can't on 165hz? I have to mention that neither the cable (hdmi 2.1 8k -60hz, 4k-120hz, 2k- 240hz) nor the monitor is to blame, they were both tested on another computer with a dedicated gtx 1650 card where they caught the maximum hz that the monitor can take, which is 165.

I also want to mention that the laptop display is set to run on 144hz.

The monitor only supports 165 Hz via DisplayPort. Please use the USB-C port on your laptop to connect to the monitor via the DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 protocol. This also has the advantage that you can use the monitor's VESA AdaptiveSync function (variable refresh rate).

But why isn't it working via hdmi 2.1? Cause in the monitors manual they specify that with an hdmi 2.1 i can get on 1920x1080 144 hz with no problem.

The HDMI ports on the monitor are version 2.0

But you're right that 144 Hz is supported by the monitor via HDMI. To find out why this isn't offered in Windows, we'd have to dig deeper. If you want, we can do that. But I think the USB-C > DisplayPort connection with 165 Hz is the better option.

I decided to stop bothering and try the usb-c version with dp 1.4, and it worked, thanks a lot for your help.
