Feedback on an issue with Intel Iris Xe running Batman: Arkham Knight and World War Z, Can't use DX11 to play normally, Batman: Arkham Knight crashes during startup, World War Z, Although World War Z can run, it cannot render properly, and the model texture keeps flashing, Very affecting the gaming experience, after testing, DXVK patches can be used to solve the issues with these two games, but, The gameplay effect is still not very good, with severe lag and frame drops, So, I hope Intel can update the driver to fix this issue and enable it to start playing normally under DX11, I have tested many drivers, All of them have this problem
Both of these games were downloaded through Steam
https://store.steampowered.com/app/208650/Batman_Arkham_Knight/
https://store.steampowered.com/app/699130/World_War_Z/
These two games have no performance issues with Intel Iris Xe graphics and can be played smoothly
I am using a lightweight laptop with the following configuration:
CPU:11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7@2.80GHz
GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics 96eu
RAM:SK Hynix LPDDR416GB 4267Mhz driver
tested:32.0.101.7029

Hi pirani123,
Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support regarding the DirectX 11 compatibility issues you're experiencing with Batman: Arkham Knight and World War Z on your Intel Iris Xe Graphics system.
I understand how frustrating it must be to encounter crashes and rendering problems that significantly impact your gaming experience, especially when you know the hardware is capable of running these games smoothly.
Issue Summary Confirmed:
- Batman: Arkham Knight: Crashes during startup in DX11 mode
- World War Z: Runs but has severe rendering issues (model texture flashing) in DX11 mode
- DXVK Workaround: Helps but causes severe lag and frame drops
- System: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics 96EU, 16GB LPDDR4
- Current Driver: 32.0.101.7029
To provide you with the most effective troubleshooting and avoid confusion, I recommend we focus on one game at a time in this case.
Which game would you like to prioritize first - Batman: Arkham Knight or World War Z?
For the other game, I suggest creating a separate support thread. This will allow us to provide dedicated attention to each game's specific problems and ensure proper tracking of solutions.
Regardless of which game we focus on first, I recommend updating to a newer Intel graphics driver version that may have improved DX11 compatibility:
Latest Driver: Intel Graphics Driver version 32.0.101.7076 Download Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/864990/intel-11th-14th-gen-processor-graphics-windows.html
Clean Installation Instructions: For best results, please perform a clean driver installation:
- Clean Installation Guide: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000057389/graphics.html
Next Steps:
- Please let me know which game you'd like to focus on first
- Try the driver update (32.0.101.7076) with clean installation
- Create a separate thread for the other game
- I'll provide specific troubleshooting questions based on your game choice
This focused approach will help us resolve each game's issues more effectively.
Best regards,

Thank you very much for your reply. After some consideration, I have decided that the game that should be prioritized is Batman: Arkham Knight.Regarding the driver, I have tried installing the new driver 32.0.101.7076, but the issue still persists. But I still hope that these two games can be solved in one driver. After all, I have waited for a long time and haven't waited for the repair. I saw that the driver has been separated from Arc graphics card, so I gave feedback.

Hi pirani123,
Thank you for your response and for choosing to prioritize Batman: Arkham Knight. I understand your frustration that the issue persists even after updating to driver version 32.0.101.7076, and I appreciate your patience while waiting for a comprehensive solution.
Batman: Arkham Knight Known Issue and Workaround:
Intel has identified Batman: Arkham Knight as having known compatibility issues with Intel Graphics platforms, and we have a specific workaround available for this game.
Batman: Arkham Knight experiences the following problems on Intel Graphics:
- Game crashes at launch
- Very low performance while playing the game
- Low FPS, even in menus
- DirectX 11 compatibility issues (as you've experienced)
Intel provides a specific solution for Batman: Arkham Knight through a modified DXGI.dll file:
Download and Installation Instructions:
- Download the fix: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000094465.html
- Download the DXGI.zip file from the Intel support article
- Extract the dxgi.dll from the zip file
- Install location: Copy the dxgi.dll into your game directory:
- <path-to-game>/Binaries/Win64
- Overwrite any existing files if prompted
Important Notes:
- This workaround may increase startup time as it forces the game to recognize Intel graphics as the primary device
- This fix is not compatible with other workarounds that use the same DLL filename
- This is an official Intel-provided solution specifically for Batman: Arkham Knight
While I understand your desire to have both games resolved in a single driver update, Batman: Arkham Knight requires this specific game-level workaround due to how the game's engine interacts with Intel graphics. For World War Z, I still recommend creating a separate support thread as it may have different underlying causes and solutions.
Next Steps:
- Try the official Intel DXGI.dll workaround for Batman: Arkham Knight
- Test the game's launch and performance after applying the fix
- Let me know the results
This official Intel workaround should resolve the DirectX 11 crashes and performance issues you've been experiencing with Batman: Arkham Knight.
Best regards,
Dean R.

Thank you for providing the patch. It can indeed be launched from DX11, and the performance is decent. At least there are no severe stutters or frame drops.Next, can we please move on to World War Z?

Hello pirani123,
Thank you for confirming and for testing the patch. I’m glad to hear that launching with DX11 has improved performance and resolved the severe stutters and frame drops. Yes, we can certainly proceed with looking into World War Z next. However, I kindly request that you create a new thread for this game. This will allow us to focus on your specific problem and provide you with better assistance.
In the meantime, could you please confirm if we can close this case for Batman: Arkham Knight, or if you still require further assistance with it?
Best regards,
Von M.
