BUG REPORT
Using latest MadShaders v0.4.0 from here http://www.geeks3d.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=430 http://www.geeks3d.com/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=430 and drivers v.4080, there are 2 buggy demos:
1) Bokeh blur (completely corrupted image)
2) Mobius balls (a ball is missing from the centre of the image)
Both look good on Nvidia OpenGL driver.
All the other demos look good with latest drivers.

I have a i5-5200U CPU / HD Graphics 5500 (Dell XPS 13) with the latest driver (15.36.14.4080) installed with the "Have disk" method. The screen resolution on this laptop is 3200x1800. The installed Windows version is 8.1.
I'm getting high CPU usage on Youtube in Chrome watching regular 1080p videos. In fact, I can see that I am skipping a few frames every few seconds. When watching the following video at 1080p: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUBDiUy2824 OnePlus One & Cyanogenmod 12! - YouTube, the Chrome CPU usage stays between 20% to 30%. If I watch the same video at 1440p, the video is a bit more jerky. This is surprising result as hardware decoding for such a standard video should handle most of the job and leave the CPU lost of room for the other tasks. What puzzles me is that my phone (Motorola Nexus 6) can run that same video at 1440p whitout a hickup on the same network. If I turn the video to 720p, the playback becomes perfectly smooth.
Could you tell me what is going on and why I'm getting such disapointing playback results for such a powerfull CPU?
Regards,
Fred

It is perfectly smooth on IE in 1440p and the CPU remains at a very reasonable level.
Now I know that this my get out of your domain, but do you have any explanation for why Chrome is not able to hardware accelerate that youtube video? The "chrome://gpu" states that "Video Decode" is "Hardware accelerated" even though it obvisouly is not.
Regards,
Fred

@ fredx21
The issue is with the browser as its media pipe is not well optimized, (we see big overhead on both CPU side and GPU side), frame drop is expected. You will notice this issue more as you play higher 4k resolution videos.
Thanks

@ Najd-Bo,
Dell make significant customizations to the drivers they install on Dell system. I would strongly recommend only using Dell certified drivers on your Inspiron 15R (5537). The Dell certified drivers can be found here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-15r-5537/drivers Product Support | Dell US
Thanks

External Monitor "Black Screen" issue.
I am still encountering my external P2815Q (4k) monitor (3840x2160 res.) staying black after waking up from a power-manager "Display turn off". I have a DELL Inspiron 7348 (i7 5500U) with an automatic patched Windows 8.1 using the latest 10.18.14.4080 driver. The monitor connection is either via "Direct" HDMI, or DP1.2 over a DELL D3100 (USB 3.0) Docking station. I prefer to use the HDMI connection currently as the Docking station display has lag, but both connection methods still have this issue. I am using an Intel Driver as the DELL drivers are (as always) very old and have even more issues. Are Intel aware of this issue still persisting? If I turn off the monitor and turn it back on I hear the disable / enable windows sounds and the screen displays again. When the screen is dark, I do not get the applications moved back to the Inspiron's on board display, thus Windows must still be seeing the external monitor as "online". If I can help in any way by running programs / providing logs, please tell me what you require. . .

I am having problem of frame loses while playing 1440p + more you tube videos. Online Videos hangs, voice in video hangs, scrolling of web pages in browser is choppy. Overall slow graphics
If i uninstall Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver and revert to OS default Microsoft driver, performance is much much better, video plays well.
I have also opened ticket 8001193875
Its a new laptop 3 days old.
Intel HD Graphics 5500 driver - 10.18.14.4222

@All users of Chrome having problems with video playback and Broadwell CPUs
Youtube in the last few months has changed the default codec from H.264 to VP9 for streaming videos, using Chrome.
VP9 is HW accelerated by Broadwell processors, but not in the same way like H.264.
H.264 is HW accelerated by a very fast and power efficient fixed-function HW called Quick sync, but VP9 has hybrid HW acceleration using GPU and CPU but no fixed-function HW.
That implementation is a lot slower.
So, the combination of Youtube-Chrome-VP9-Broadwell is not working for demanding clips like 1440p or 2160p.
There are two options in my opinion:
1) Use IE which uses H.264 by default
2) Somehow "cheat" Youtube/Chrome to offer the H.264 stream instead of VP9

Fine, Chrome may have done some change which to me is magnifying the issue. But in my observations raw Microsoft graphics driver works lot better & Chrome has no problem playing high res videos with Microsoft driver. So I think there is something with Intel driver too, thoughts?

Microsoft's driver doesn't enable HW acceleration for VP9 for Broadwell, because is older than 4080, which means that only CPU is involved for VP9 decoding.
The faster the CPU, the better the VP9 decoding by CPU only.

Ok, so this could be fair explanation for high res video. Even page scrolling is choppy and results in high CPU usage 40-60%.

Given that this appears to be Broadwell specific thing, is a patch or new version of driver expected. I bought Intel 5th gen with high expectation & my old 4th gen is much faster
