I have an SGX issue reported by Cyberlink’s Blu-Ray Advisor.
All the prerequisites pass (with the exception of HDR support which Is the expected result for my system) but SGX is reported as ‘Not Available’, with the error code -394260080.
The platform meets all the requirements, SGX is enabled in the BIOS, latest Intel ME, latest chipset drivers etc, and the Intel tests I am able to perform confirm SGX is fully supported.
Cyberlink state that the error code is being returned by Intel, but without any further diagnostics it is proving difficult to track down the reason for the error code. There are no useful errors reported in the Windows EvenLog.
The Intel website designintools.Intel.com offers Functional Validation Tool for Skylake and Kabylake Platforms, but requires a corporate email address to register.
Is there any other way to download the tool ?
With more detailed diagnostics it may be possible to resolve the issue.

A debug trace of Cyberlink’s advisor shows that the SGX check will fail on post Redstone 4 Windows builds……
Because the pswinstaller.exe tries to install an earlier version of SGX which is disallowed in later builds. That’s the reason a fresh install of Windows 10 With an RS4 build or earlier works. (Apr 2018 or earlier).
So the issue is actually with Cyberlink. Presumably (hopefully) recent versions of PowerDVD must overcome the issue. But I can’t play UHD Blu-Ray with PowerDVD 17, because of the incorrectly failed SGX issue.

I'd appreciate your input with resolving the SGX issue Cyberlink Blu-Ray Advisor is reporting on this platform.
Requested SSU and Graphics reports attached.
Chipset/Drivers/Intel Management Engine are up to date with ASUS motherboard website
BIOS is 2 versions behind latest, but later BIOS versions don't mention SGX in the changelogs
All other tests I can carry out confirm SGX is operational on this platform
I think this is a Cyberlink problem with post RS4 windows builds and the only solution is a fresh install of the Windows RS4 build followed by an install of the dependencies Intel ME etc. The Advisor attempts to run pswinstaller.exe which fails because the Microsoft inf SGX drivers cannot be downgraded in Windows builds later than RS4.
Check out this post on the intel forum, which appears to back up the idea that a fresh install of a particular windows build is required to workaround this issue Re: SGX - Intel Community
Cyberlink have basically suggested the solution rests with Intel or Asus, not very helpful and that Intel will be able to interpret the error code -394260080 (0xE8801190)
Cyberlink's Blu-ray Advisor gives a pass to everything except HDR (which is not required) and SGX - Not Available error code -394260080.
Intel's SGXCapabilityTool confirms SGX is active
Corel's Blu-Ray Advisor gives SGX a pass.
PowerDVD 17 Gives 'an error occurred trying to play this media' E8810001 with any UHD blu-ray media, again Cyberlink point to this as an error raised by Intel SGX and that I should contact Intel
I also have a debug trace from PowerDVD 17

Hello HPRetired,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.
In order to better assist you, please provide the following:
1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
· Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/25293/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
· Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
· To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
2. Provide the Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers:
3. Have you checked with ASUS for drivers and/or firmware?
4. Have you check with Cyberlink’s team for instructions?
Regards,
Deivid A.

I have an SGX issue reported by Cyberlink’s Blu-Ray Advisor. (I have provided a log generated by the error, in my earlier post)
All the Cyberlink Advisor prerequisites for UHD blu-ray playback pass (with the exception of HDR support which Is the expected result for my system) but SGX is reported as ‘Not Available’, with the error code -394260080.
Intel's sgxplatformcapability.exe tool confirms SGX is enabled, also Corel's blu-ray advisor confirms SGX is supported by the platform
Asus drivers and firmware are up to date from the Asus website
The BIOS is 2 versions behand the latest, but none of the BIOS versions mention SGX in the change log.
Cyberlink have not provided any useful assistance, other than to refer the issue to Intel or Asus.
I also have a log generated when attempting to play any UHD blu-ray media using PowerDVD17

Hello HPRetired,
I could see that we have created an internal case (05229795) that is currently under investigation/support, please kindly refer to that case for more updates on this behavior.
In this case, we will proceed to close this thread to avoid duplication of effort and the support will continue through the internal case.
