Hello,

You can troubleshoot the issue with Fortnite and Rust. Here are some steps you can take to address the loading screen crash: Check Server Status:
Verify the status of Fortnite servers via the Epic Games server status website.
If there are outages or maintenance updates, it could cause loading screen issues.
Restart Fortnite:
Sometimes a simple restart can resolve issues. Close Fortnite completely and relaunch it.
Restarting may connect you to a less crowded server.
Run as Administrator:
Right-click on the game’s executable (Fortnite or Rust) and choose “Run as administrator.”
This helps bypass any permission conflicts.
Update Graphics Card Drivers:
Ensure your graphics card drivers are up to date. Visit the manufacturer’s website (Nvidia or AMD) to download the latest drivers.
Switch to DirectX 11:
In Fortnite, switch from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11. Some users report better stability with DirectX 11.
Reinstall Fortnite:
If the issue persists, consider reinstalling Fortnite. Remove it completely and then download a fresh copy.

I hope this info useful to you

Hey Gabe,

That sounds frustrating! It's odd that Fortnite and Rust suddenly started crashing midway through loading, especially since they've been running fine on your Lenovo ThinkStation with Intel Iris Xe graphics and i7 12700H.

Here are a few things you could try:

  1. Check for Overheating: Sometimes, intensive games can cause your system to overheat, leading to crashes. Make sure your laptop's cooling system is working properly and isn't blocked by dust or obstructions.

  2. Update Windows: Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully up to date. Sometimes, game crashes can be caused by compatibility issues with older OS versions.

  3. Verify Game Files: In addition to reinstalling the games, verify the game files through their respective launchers (like Steam or Epic Games). This can sometimes fix issues with corrupted files.

  4. Monitor GPU Temperature: Use software like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor to monitor your GPU's temperature while playing. If it's running hot (above 85°C), consider improving airflow or using a cooling pad.

  5. Driver Updates: While you mentioned updating drivers, it might be worth double-checking if there's a newer version available specifically for your Intel Iris Xe graphics card.

  6. Check Background Applications: Ensure there are no other intensive applications running in the background that could be conflicting with the games.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, you might want to consider reaching out to the support teams for Fortnite or Rust. Sometimes, specific game updates or patches can introduce unexpected issues that the community or developers might already be aware of.

Hope this helps you get back to gaming smoothly!
