IntelHDGraphics 4000 BSOD when connecting second monitor

HI!

I recently tried to connect second monitor to my old laptop(Lenovo ideapad y580). When I tried to do that I got flashing black screen and after 15-20 seconds BSOD appeared. It says Video TDR Failure. I've been trying to connect the monitor both through the HDMI and VGA and it throws BSOD for both of them. I've tried updating the drivers both for intel graphics and for Nvidia(Which is gtx 660m) but that didnt help. I've also tried turning off the laptop, plugging in the monitor cable and then turning on the laptop, but that didnt help neither. The monitor worked once, but when I switched from duplicate screens to extend - BSOD appeared again. Do You know any workarounds for this issue or should I just buy myself a newer laptop? 🙂

Buy a new (non-Lenovo) laptop.
