Is Intel Arc A380 enough for After Effects & Premiere Pro on my PC? Should I go slightly higher?

Hey everyone,
I mostly work with video editing, mainly Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro (I'm not into gaming at all). I'm planning to upgrade my PC a bit within a tight budget, and I’d love some advice on whether the Intel Arc A380 6GB (Gunnir Index) would be enough for decent editing performance.

Here’s my current setup:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3-10100 (4C/8T)

  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 (2×8GB)

  • Motherboard: Gigabyte B560M GAMING HD

  • Storage: Currently only HDD, but I'm also adding a 512GB SATA SSD soon

  • PSU: Planning to get Corsair CX650 80+ Bronze

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

I’ve researched a lot, and the A380 fits my current budget (about $180). But I’m unsure if it will be good enough for smooth previews, rendering, and general workflow in Adobe apps or if I should stretch a bit more and look for something else.

Would appreciate your honest input.

Is anyone using the A380 for video editing?

Is it worth it for this kind of work, or should I invest a little more?

Thanks in advance!

Ask the software manufacturer what THEIR requirements are rather than trying to guess.

If you install an Intel Arc discrete graphics card, here's what you might experience:
Premiere Pro crashes in the middle of export.
Pixels glitch even with basic animation effects on the Windows desktop.
I can't use internet browsers with hardware acceleration on because they frequently crash.
The official software constantly hogs 15% of my CPU in the background.
If I uninstall it, I can't find driver updates and have to manually visit the Intel website every time.
Because of these instabilities, when I check GPU usage in Task Manager, I have to switch the detailed graph to 'Compute' to see proper data.
After setting the quantization range to full and rebooting, if I go into IGS display tab, it reverts to default, making the screen look washed out.

If you want to use it for work, buying a GeForce RTX is better.
