Issues with Latest Driver, Older Games and Additional Feedback

So I have the B580 GPU. After updating to the latest driver (32.0.101.6734 WHQL Certified), I was unable to launch Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The game reports an error stating there's a problem with the display driver. However, reverting back to the previous version (32.0.101.6653) resolved the issue, and the game runs normally.

Additionally, even on 32.0.101.6653, I encountered performance issues with older games like Red Dead Redemption 1 (2024 PC Port). While gameplay runs smoothly at over 100 FPS at 1440p, cutscenes frequently drop to around 5–25 FPS with significant lag and stuttering. During these scenes, the GPU clock speed throttles down to below 800MHz — sometimes as low as 400MHz. I'm unsure whether this is an issue on Intel's end or something related to Rockstar's port, but I wanted to share this feedback in case it helps with future updates. Also, Test Devil May Cry 5 on this Intel Arc B580, the second mission performs so badly below 30fps compared to 100fps in the first mission.

For the Driver features, there must be a feature to overlay performance metrics, a feature for video captures and streaming, and an Average FPS per Game launched on the Intel Graphics Software App. i hope VRR on HDMI 2.0 will become supported as most people use HDMI 2.0

Hi @AngelPeer,

Thank you for posting here in our community. To effectively diagnose and address the issue you're experiencing, I kindly ask you to provide detailed responses to the following questions. This information will help us isolate the problem and determine the most appropriate course of action.

  • Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration.
  • Could you let me know the origin of the game? Where did it come from, and where did you download it?
  • Have you previously performed a clean installation of the graphics driver, before using either an older or the latest version?
  • Kindly share some screenshots and recordings of your game settings so we can replicate and check the issue on our end using the same settings you use during gameplay.
  • Additionally, you may follow this guide on how to report performance issues in the game.

We will address and focus in the error message you're encountering by following the instructions in this article "How to Resolve Error Message: "DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG". Additionally, for your concerns and feedback regarding overlay performance metrics and VRR support, please refer to the supplementary article below for more information.

So, the latest Driver Out has now fixed the issue with Ratchet and Clank crashing so good.

But for the Red Dead Redemption 1, it is still occurring, and it seems to be a common issue for others too: The case has been created: https://github.com/IGCIT/Intel-GPU-Community-Issue-Tracker-IGCIT/issues/979

The Intel internal bug ID is 18039964303.

Hi @AngelPeer,

Thank you for your update. I'm glad to hear that the latest driver has resolved the crashing issue with Ratchet and Clank. Regarding Red Dead Redemption 1, we are aware of the ongoing issue and are actively investigating it, as it appears to be affecting multiple users.

Since the latest driver has helped stabilize the situation, I will proceed with closing this ticket. You can focus on the other ticket you created for issues with other games. If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to submit a new ticket, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
