I had a problem with my graphics drivers which made them just completely crash. Both my Intel drivers and my Nvidia drivers got an error code 63. After rolling back my drivers i saw that it is good to keep my OEM drivers from 2019 as they have my manufacturer specification in them. But after that I read that old drivers might have security issues (Nvidia had lots of them over the 5 years my laptop is made) and that Intel drivers will keep my manufacturer specifications intact if i have generation 6 or above. And that new drivers will help with performance and compatibility with new applications.
I have an acer Aspire 7 with i7-8750H processor and a Nvidia gtx 1050 .
What do you advise me on doing with the Intel processor drivers?
Thank you very much for any suggestions or advice.
Best regards,
Darvin
P.S. it think the crash was due to Nvidia drivers or something and not with intel but the question still remains as security is a big issue nowadays.

Hello @Darvin
Thank you for posting on the Intel️® communities. We would be more than glad to help you with your issue.
At Intel, our unwavering commitment is to enhance the performance and efficiency of our customers' products. When it comes to OEM drivers, we strongly advise utilizing these specialized drivers, meticulously crafted by the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to operate seamlessly in the most optimized conditions alongside their products. In contrast, our drivers are designed as generic graphics drivers, providing versatility but without the tailored optimization that OEM drivers offer. Your product's peak performance is best achieved by embracing the synergy of OEM-specific drivers.
If you see issues after updating to the generic graphics driver means that Intel graphics has not been validated for your specific PC and thus can exhibit issues specific to your system. If issues are seen after installing this driver, restore your original experience by reinstalling the latest graphics driver directly from your OEM. If OEM drivers are not available, but the rollback option in the device manager is still available, perform a rollback.
In this specific case, we suggest checking first with Acer to make the necessary updates if needed, otherwise, we have these latest drivers for your i7-8750H processor - Intel® UHD Graphics 630.

Sorry for the delay. The drivers were not at fault. The problem was that Ubuntu that I had on dual boot would more strictly turn off the wifi module so Windows 10 couldn't turn it on. If i enable wifi on Ubuntu the issue goes away. But I also wanted to start this thread as a conversation as the generic vs oem driver comparison is an interesting topic to me. I appreciate your fist comment and after i find some new knowledge I might open a new topic.
Thank you for your patience.
Just want to know if this stands true: "and that Intel drivers will keep my manufacturer specifications intact if i have generation 6 or above." As i am certain I read it as a note on one of your pages.
Best regards.
