Is there any information on when the LSPCon function will be incorporated into the UHD630 Graphics Processor? Also, will the UHD630 support both DolbyVision and HDR10+ dynamic HDR?

Here is the email I sent to Asrock Tech Support referencing the Intel HDR Whitepaper where the referenced Mobo is listed. No response to date.

Can you tell me if the Z370 Gaming ITX/ac mobo meets all the requirements for HDR support according to the attached HDR document from Intel? Also, is HDR10+ and/or DolbyVision supported natively or will it require a firmware upgrade or a solder-on hardware upgrade?

SilentK: Thank you very much for providing that information. I just received an update in this matter, the 6th, 7th and 8th generation of processors support HDMI 2.0 via LSPCon. At this time we cannot comment on unreleased products, but we are aiming to incorporate native HDMI 2.0 support on future products.

The whole HDR technology appears to be in a state of flux. I have included an article from What Hi*Fi?

This article makes the following reference:

"Another advantage of Dolby Vision is that the metadata is embedded into the video signal, meaning it can run across 'legacy' HDR connections as far back as version 1.4b. Despite only using static metadata, HDR10 requires HDMI 2.0a compatibility."

If this statement is true, it would appear that in order to support static HDR10 metadata, an HDMI 2.0a interface is required, and to support all the contending dynamic and broadcast HDR formats (Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Technicolor HDR and HLG) an HDMI 2.1 interface would be required (see http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_1/ www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdmi_2_1/). Since the HDMI 2.1 spec is backward compatible, supports 4K120HZ refresh rate, and future-proof's the Intel product line; it seems like a no-brainer.
