Life is Feudal HD 4000

Hello,

After installing the game recently i have issues with all fire sources.

Light and smoke aren't rendered as intended but as wierd bars.

I got the latest driver checked all options and also asked the game developer for support but it seems to be a driver issue.

Life is Feudal uses directx 11 and got a shader update some time ago.

Would it be possible to look into this issue and provide a driver update if that is what is needed?

Kind regards

Hello SFCDaniel,

Could you please let me know your processor model, computer model, operating system and the driver version installed? Please go to Device Manger> Display adapters> Intel(R) HD Graphics right click on Properties and then go to Driver, you will be able to see the version installed.

Regards,

Amy.

Hello,

I have a Sony Vaio svs1311g3es with Intel Core i5 3210M and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1.

Graphics driver version is 10.18.10.4425

Driver date is 04.04.2016

Already tried disabling anisotropic filtering and Optimium Mode in the driver for testing as well as most game options but no difference.

The developer mentioned that they have changed the rendering for these effects recently and can't reproduce this glitch.

(Processor is fixed at 99% to avoid autoboost, Windows may not have all of the new updates besides the driver)

PS: I also found that the HD4000 draws a visible line(black or white with low setting and brighter with higher shadow settings) where the rendering for shadows ends.

And it doesn't load the high textures but only low or medium ones even if set to high texture quality. If i am right the HD should have 1691 mb "v"ram which is totally sufficient

You mentioned that the developer changed the rendering for these effects recently, so I just want to confirm; are you running a different game version? What is the version you are running, and what is the version they mentioned?

I use the Steam version of Life is Feudal: Your Own which is automatically updated and currently at 1.1.8.1.

I actually reinstalled the game two weeks ago so i don't know how it was before since i haven't played it for over a year. Maybe the problem was there even before the latest changes?

And I can't tell exactly how or when they changed the shaders or with which version. thats more likely a question for the developer. Quote: "We updated particles recently..."

Is there any chance you can get clarification on "We updated particles recently..." from the game developers? Since you already have the latest driver from our end, we would need more information from them specially if you do not know if the problem was present before.

Amy.

SFCDaniel I have received an answer from the Life is Feudal support, and they have confirmed that the minimal requirements are Intel® HD Graphics 4600 which are the graphics for 4th Generation Intel® Processors. Your processor is a 3rd Generation Intel® Processor, so is not likely that the game will work as expected. They also mentioned that they were going to inform you about this.

See the requirements here; http://store.steampowered.com/app/290080 Life is Feudal: Your Own on Steam.

Still wondering how direct 11.0 can be so different compared to 11.2 of the 4600, esspecially when i use win 7 which only supports directx 11.0 and the minimum Gt 460 also only supports direct x 11.0. So its either a graphics driver issue or the towards amd/nvidia optimized code and not the hardware supported direct x version.

And is there a way to increase the shared RAM since it seems locked at 512 mb and i would need 1gb?

In most cases, the computer manufacturer has already configured the system to use the maximum amount of graphics memory that is possible for your particular computer model. Sometimes you can change these values through BIOS level, you may need to check with Sony if this is possible for your Vaio.
