Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset BIOS RECOVERY

I appologize if this posting is a duplicate, but I cannot find the original.

I have a HP nw8440 laptop that has been "bricked" due to a failure during a bios update. The chipset is Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset.

The machine powers up, but nothing loads.

Is it possible to reset the bios without being able to get into the bios menu? Is it possible to replace the bios chip? Or do I need to replace the system board to recover the machine?

I still have not been able to resolve this problem. It is hard to beleive that the whole machine is trashed because of this failed bios update. Does anybody have any suggestions?

One option I am exploring is replcing the BIOS chip, that I can buy from EBAY (Biosdepot). Any experience with doing this? Any idea how I can locate the chip on the board?
