I'm sorry, but if your device doesn't feature an USB Type-C port, then you only have HDMI 1.4 as a video output. And that apparently can't do more than 1920 x 1080. Of course, you can still contact Dell Support.

You need to talk to Dell. This is not an Intel Graphics engine or driver problem. Dell is artificially limiting the resolution, either through incompetent hardware implementation or intentional through software (likely to push you to purchase more-expensive laptop models).

Samsung ViewFinity S5 S50GC, 34" monitor (21:9):
3440 × 1440 @ 100 Hz RGB 10-bit HDR (CVT-RB) = 20.17 Gbps
2 x HDMI 2.0 (18 Gbps)
1 x DisplayPort 1.2 (21.6 Gbps)
VESA AdaptiveSync, AMD FreeSync
It is often the case that the HDMI ports on laptops are limited to 9 Gbps HDMI 1.4 (16:9). Which Dell model do you have?
If your Dell features
USB-C with DisplayPort
OR
Thunderbolt
please connect the monitor with one of these cables:
- Zeskit MAYA 8K Bi-Directional USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable
- Club 3D USB Type C Cable to DP 1.4 (CAC-1557)
- Cable Matters USB-C to DisplayPort Cable - 8K Ready (201036)
- Cable Matters Premium Braided USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable (201336)
If your laptop only has HDMI as a video output, then there is probably nothing you can do.

Hi MUC, thanks for you time and detailed message. I do not have a Type C port. Maybe there is more than one versione. I will run the suggested tool and upload the report by answering after your second message. Thanks again.

Please run the Intel System Support Utility for Windows and perform a scan for all options. Attach the output file here so that we can learn more about your Dell laptop.

Hi, I hope the attached file is useful for you and I hope you are able to let me know something. I am afraid nothing can be done, and I am resigning myself to the idea of having to work at a lower video resolution. Thanks a lot!
