My computer experiences intermittent unexpected black screen.

I purchased the Yaoshi 16 Ultra laptop from MECHREVO. This laptop comes pre-installed with the Intel Ultra 9 275HX processor and its accompanying graphics card. During the process of using the computer, my display screen would sometimes turn black, and it would automatically recover after about two to three seconds. I don't have an external monitor. The scheduling for the Intel integrated graphics and the NVIDIA graphics card installed simultaneously in the computer is preset at the factory. Every time an error occurs, I can see a large number (at least 100) of errors in the Windows Event Viewer, which reads: "The description for Event ID 10 from source Intel-Gfx-Display-External cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."

Hello Peter_JY,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

Before we proceed, let me set the expectation that since this is a laptop and there are a lot of small components/other components that can cause the issue. There is a possibility that this is a hardware issue. To find out, let me gather more information to document and investigate further.

  1. How long have you been using this laptop?
  2. When did you start getting the flickering issue?
  3. Did you change any settings before the issue?
  4. What are the troubleshooting steps that you tried so far?
  5. There are 2 kinds of drivers. Intel generic driver and OEM driver produced by the manufacturer of the system. Which driver have you tried so far, or have you tried both?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

1. I bought this laptop in early October 2025.
2. I can't remember exactly when it first appeared. I think it was after November 2025.
3. I only adjusted the built-in modes in MECHREVO control panel. I have used the balanced mode, the office mode, and the berserk mode.
4. I only ran SSU. And the result is above.
5. I don't know. It should be the pre-installed one, since I haven't updated the drivers. But I'm not sure if Windows 11's updates will automatically update them.

Hello Peter_JY,

Thank you for the quick reply.

Upon checking the SSU, you are not using the latest driver. Please try the following recommendation and update this thread once done.

1, Please try to update the driver using DDU method. Kindly refer to the link below for the steps and the direct download link of the latest driver:

2, To check if this is a hardware issue, please try to connect an external monitor and observe if that will also happen in the external monitor.

Hello Peter_JY,

I hope you are having a good day.

I am sending another follow up to check if you tried my last recommendations. If you are having issues after the driver update, please try to contact MECHREVO for further diagnostics if you are having a driver issue or hardware issue.

Since we have not heard back from you, I need to close this inquiry.

If you need further assistance, please post a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.

Thank you and have a great day.
