I have a MSI laptop that has the HD 4600 intel graphics. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 and I noticed with these drivers the Display Audio Driver is not actually included even though it states that it is. I have downloaded the zip file 3x and it does not have the same Display Audio folder as the latest windows 8.1 driver that can be downloaded. Without this driver I cannot send sound over the HDMI port when connected to my TV/Surround Sound. This worked fine prior to the upgrade but I have been unable to install the Display Audio driver and it is not detected by Windows 10. Please help.

Thank you Bryce.
WARNING: to laptop users with a docking station!
On my Lenovo T440p laptop docked to a ThinkPad Pro Dock 40A1 (not the "One"), this Intel driver update would NOT load. My monitor is VGA input only but capable of 1920x1080 resolution. When docked, my system cannot pass through that resolution, only a maximum of 1280x1024.
I have contacted Lenovo and requested a firmware update to the docking station (not the first time!).
This is not Intel's problem. Sorry for my previous posts!

Please add support for the 3rd Gen i7 processors which have HD 4000 graphics. I have the 3920XM in my laptop, and I want to install the Windows 10 upgrade, but I need drivers for HD 4000 (not 4200, 4400, 4600)...I mean support for the 4000, that will support Windows 10. Thank You!

@All SandyBridge (iGPU HD 2000/3000) and Ivybridge (iGPU HD 2500/4000) owners
Both of these two type of processors have GPU drivers for Win 10 and are supported officially by Intel.
The drivers are offered by Windows Update automatically like Haswell.
These two type of processors have WDDM v1.3 drivers (Win 8.1) for their iGPUs and not the newest WDDM v2.0 (Win 10) that Haswell and beyond supports.
But this has nothing to do with the feature levels of DirectX, because no GPU from Intel supports DirectX12 feature level yet.

Thank You, NikosD, for your attempt.
However, we already understand the fact that they "should" be provided by Windows Update. However, the problem is that the drivers are not being pushed to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 versions of Windows Update. Thus, we cannot install the Windows 10 update, because we do not have the drivers that are currently only available after installing Windows 10. We are asking Intel to add HD 2000, 3000, 4000 support to this publicly available driver rather than a hidden one.

OK.
From your reply I can now understand the misunderstanding.
SandyBridge and Ivy WILL NOT GET 4256 driver for Win 10. Ever.
When I said that you will get the driver from Windows Update, I meant the appropriate driver for your GPU which is not the current driver that we are commenting here.
You will only get the latest Win 8.1 driver for your IGPU.
For example my Sandy Core i5-2400, got the latest Win 8.1 driver which is 4229 from Windows Update of Win 10 OS, after the clean install of Win 10.
I can't see a reason of being afraid of the upgrade to Win 10.
There are no other "special" drivers for Sandy and Ivy regarding Win 10 OS.

@nikos, I have upgraded to windows 10 and I am still waiting for the sandybridge drivers to download through windows update. I currently have a laptop that can not be turned off or restarted as when i do i have no display and only HDMI output. (see other posts) Both intel and windows said this laptop and graphics hd 3000 are compatible with windows 10. I would like to be able to manually install the update as it is not in WU nor available from intel update utility

As I wrote above, my SandyBridge Core i5-2400 got the 4229 driver from Windows Update, immediately after the clean install.
I don't remember if it is exactly the same driver like the 4229 for Win 8.1
If I were you, I would definitely install the latest Win 8.1 driver for Sandy, or after the upgrade and the activation of Win 10 I would DEFINITELY DO A CLEAN INSTALL which is highly recommended for everyone.

I had a BSOD with these drivers (Win10 x64 fresh install, driver 15.40.4.64.4256).
I was watching a video with MPC HC (MPC Homecinema) x86, which uses DXVA2 hardware acceleration. Suddenly the screen turned black and there was a sound as if a device was unplugged. The sound of the video kept playing. Then a few seconds later, there was the bluescreen.

I upgrade my W81 to W10 and test a fresh instal but upgrade and fresh instal had the same problème.
I had this problem when i start a video (after that, all are good).
And sometime, my screen turn black and the sound stop, restart, restop, restart and the PC reboot (gfx-iu has stopped working).
My configuration:
Acer Aspire V3-772G
I7-4702mq
Intel HD graphic 4600
Nvidia Gforce GTX 760M
I remove the driver and return on microsoft video card driver and i don't had this problem again but now all video are slow when i use fastly my PC (watching video on MPC-HC, video on internet...).
It's really unpleasant.
Hope new driver come quickly without problem.

I have the same issue with video on start and minimum every day system will freeze with freaky sound (only during video playback) and only reset by hardware button helps.
My config.:
Desktop computer
CPU - Intel Core i7 4770
Graphic Card - Intel HD 4600
MB ASUS Z87 Pro
Mem RAM 16 Gb
Mem Video 1 Gb
Monitor res 1920*1200 (connected with DVI)

Second bluescreen (BSOD) during hardware accelerated video playback with MPC HomeCinema.
Technical Information:
*** STOP: 0x00000116 (0xffffe001200ad160, 0xfffff800abc76550, 0x0000000000000000,

*** dxgkrnl.sys - Address 0xfffff800aad12a7c base at 0xfffff800aabd0000 DateStamp
0x55af128a
The monitor turned off, then there was the "hardware disconnect" sound (the one you also hear when you update the video driver). The sound came twice, as if Windows tried to "restart" the graphics driver. But then came the bluescreen.
Hardware video acceleration is very buggy with this driver! Please fix this!

This is the same issue over and over again, after some time the driver disappears. A user without knowledge trying to download from Intels own page will not succeed.

Hi mklappen
Apologies for the trouble you and others are experiencing downloading the drivers. I'm getting many reports of similar issues all over Download Center and just received notice today there's been an issue with the server. We're working to resolve this as quickly as possible. I just tested all links on the page several times and they seem to be working now. Please recheck and let me know if you're still seeing errors. Thanks for raising this concern.
