No HDR Options on Intel Graphics 630

Dear all,

I am sorry to bother you again, but I have another issue with the Intel Graphics 630 Controller. The HDR option is off and I cannot actívate it. I cannot stream in HDR either. I have a Sony XD90 Series, which is fully compatible with HDR. I tried to play a HDR game on the Ps4 Pro and it Works perfectly. I also tried to connect the computer with my dedicated graphic card (Nvidia Geforce GTX 980ti), and the option "Activate HDR" is active. COnversely, I do not have this option when I use the Intel graphics 630 driver. I checked the fórum and it seems that I am not the only one to have this problem, but it has not been solved yet.

Obviously, I have the latest Intel and Windos driver, the Tv is connected via HDMI and I am using the integrated video driver.

Please find attached all the information that you need to address this issue.

Best regards,

Hi again rostan242

I'm looking at the https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=134-KS-E379-KR EVGA Z370 Classified K, part# 134-KS-E379-KR's specifications and https://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/134-KS-E379.pdf manual, unfortunately I do not see a clear indication whether that's HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.0a.

As previously mentioned, for HDR support we need HDMI 2.0a (achieved via LSPCON converter).

I searched in the manual for any reference to 'HDR' and only got 1 hit, and was in the Glossary of terms (page 136), so I hope you'll understand why I'm not comfortable saying whether this one would work or not. The best approach is https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/ asking EVGA directly, which I just did by the way. Once I have a reply from them I'll let you know.

Best Regards,

Ronald M.

Hi Ronaldo12,

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any adapter that successfully lets HDR work correctly, thus at the moment only direct HDMI 2.0a output or DP 1.3 are recommended.

I checked the https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GE62-7RE-Apache-Pro/Specification specifications for the MSI GE62 7RE Apache Pro and it seems the HDMI port is 1.4 (maximum resolution of 4K@30hz). There is no information on the DisplayPort (DP) port specification, so I'll suggest checking with MSI for more details concerning the DP output. More so, it seems this laptop can come equipped with a Discrete graphics card (i.e. GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti), and there is a possibility that this card may be connected to one of the video ouputs (e.g. DisplayPort). I can't tell for sure as that is up to MSI's own hardware implementation.

Best Regards,

Ronald M.
