No "Maintain Aspect Ratio" in settings

Hello. I Recently bought notebook Asus x201e with integrated Intel HD 4000 (on core I3) and one of first things I didn't find - how to enable maintaining aspect ratio scaling? There are no such option in Intel graphics panel. Look at the attached image(it is in russian cause I'm using russian version of windows 7) : I tried to search for this problem, but found, that it almost always comes with dual videoadapters(nvidia and intel). But I don't have second one! So it is quite strange for me. I have lastest generic drivers from Intel download center, also tried drivers from windows update - they are similar. Second problem is that I use Windows 7 32 bit, but manufacturer gives drivers and soft for 64x of windows 8. Can this be clue? And it all - how to add it? Maybe it is generic drivers problem?

Thanks for answer

Installed windows 7 64 with drivers from manufacturer and from Intel - situation is just the same

Now tried windows xp - surprisingly in the only one (ancient) drivers 6.14.10.5398 there is possibility to maintain aspect ratio. So, I guess, it is problem in new drivers themself.,,

Up...

I'm still wondering how to fix that. Tried to ask by e-mail, but just scilence from Intel... Can someone provide drivers version, which gives possibility to maintain aspect ratio(at least for their notebooks/motherboards)?

PS: My information about xp is not correct: drivers from Intel download center don't have possibility to maintain aspect ratio. The only ones, which give such function are from lenovo from here: http://support.lenovo.com/ru_UA/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029467&rss=true http://support.lenovo.com/ru_UA/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029467&rss=true, but they REALLY slow and work only for XP. Drivers for that notebook for windows 7 don't have this function, as rest of tested drivers...

Hello,

Do you need graphics drivers for Microsoft* Windows* XP or Microsoft* Windows* 7 64 bit?

Michael

Hello,

Do these drivers differ from those from intel download center? If so - give me them to test, please.

Any drivers I tried for 7 don't contain aspect ratio scaling. The only one for xp(which is given upper) gives such possibility, but it gives VERY low performance(in terms of 3dmark06 system with Intel drivers gives almost 2700 marks, with those from lenovo - only near 1700, from which sm2 and hdr score gives near 300)

I installed lastest bios from asus(was published yesterday), but nothing changed in graphics. Will try to ask them about this problem...

Hello,

I took a look at the specifications of your notebook Asus x201e, and under operating systems supported are only Windows* 8 and Ubuntu. Is possible the issue can be related with the operating system you currently using. I recommend for troubleshooting purposes to use Microsoft* Windows* 8 to see if the issues persists.

The graphics driver for Microsoft* Windows* 8 is here:

Hello, michael_intel

You don't miss anything? Windows 8 is the only OS for x202e, model with touchscreen. For x201e Asus provides drivers for Win7 64x, Win8 32x and Win8 64x: http://ru.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/X201E/ http://ru.asus.com/Notebooks/Versatile_Performance/X201E/

But, in any way, I received answer from Asus: they tried this notebook with OEM Windows 8 and said, that it don't have this feature too, and more, they said that it is NORMAL for this model not to have scaling! Can they cut down this function and is there any way to enable it(cause driver for xp supports it)? I ask this because I have some programs, which works only in 640x480 in fullscreen and withoit this scaling work with them is painful...

Hello,

Unfortunately if your system manufacturer (Asus) said that is normal not have scaling, then there is nothing we can do since they build the laptop and if they have that option disable is for a reason.

Michael

This is honestly the most annoying bug in the software. Any time you create a custom resolution at 4:3, you have NO OPTION to maintain aspect ratio. It's complete crap. The driver always decides to stretch full screen.

Please make this the # 1 thing to fix. Make it so we can MAINTAIN ASPECT RATIO for custom resolutions.

I'm purposely bumping all aspect ratio questions so you programmers know how serious of an issue this is.

Also fix the limited 60hz problem for monitors that can go to 120hz. That's another huge bug.
