One of my software keeps crashing with an nt.dll error

Hi everyone,

I use a music recording software (Cubase) for my work which can host third-party plugins like virtual instruments, effects etc. I noticed that one particular plugin causes the entire software to crash, upon which the software shows an nt.dll error before shutting. I have attached a screenshot of the error window below along with a screenshot of my PC specs.

I submitted a crash dump on the software manufacturer's forum, where their rep analyzed it and pointed out that the crash is in igd10iumd64 which is Intel module. They then pointed me to links on this forum about discussions on igd10iumd64.

Unfortunately everything was so technical that I did not understand anything apart from that it seems to be an issue related to graphics. But not sure about that either.

I have tried every solution that users on other forums and Reddit suggested like running file checker, DISM command, a clean install of my software and plugin, java update and what not. But the problem still persists.

Can someone please advice and help me with this? Is the issue with the on-board GPU or it's driver? Do I need to get an external GPU or is this something else altogether?

Solving this is very critical for me as my work has halted because of these crashes.

Thank you.

Hello SammieD,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand the urgency of resolving this issue, but I need some additional information to assist you better. Please answer the following questions:

  1. What is your current graphics driver?
  2. Are you using only the on-board graphics, or do you have a discrete GPU?
  3. Have you recently updated your graphics driver?
  4. Is this the first time this issue has occurred on your system?
  5. Have you performed a clean installation of the graphics driver?

Your answers will greatly help in analyzing the situation. I look forward to your response.
