Hello, I updated the drivers of my Intel Arc B580 to version 32.0.101.8331 from 32.0.101.8250 and used the "Execute clean install" function of the installer which went as expected the first time. but on the second attempt it reached the finishing up driver instal phase and the screen suddenly became pale and crashed the PC part way through. booting the system into "safe mode" made no difference either. Additionaly, seemingly at random even simply installing the driver package without the "clean instal" would cause a system crash. Using DDU also isn't a guarenteed succes as the system may still crash, but far less likely to do so.
So far the most reliable way I found to install the drivers properly.. if they even are installing properly which is within question, is to boot the syetm into safe mode, use DDU, restart the system still in safe mode delete whatever Intel Graphics Software files remain using the option in the gfx_win app, reboot again, install the driver package, reboot out of safe mode and install the Intel Graphics Software.
This behaviour is highly abnormal and didn't happen before that driver version.
It has been insufferable to deal with and I would like to know if the software is causing it or if it's a potential problem with my unit.
I will happily provide any additional info if needed.
system specs: Microsoft Windows 10 64bit (22H2), Sparkle Intel Arc B580 TITAN OC

Hi ThunderBolt, It sounds like the new driver is really unstable on your setup. From your description, this seems more like a driver/software issue than a hardware problem, especially since the crashes only started after updating to 32.0.101.8331. Your approach using safe mode and DDU is very thorough and matches what Intel support often recommends for stubborn driver installs.
I’d suggest continuing to use the previous stable driver for now, and keep an eye on any Intel hotfixes or minor updates that might address these crashes. If the issue persists, you could also contact Intel support directly with your system logs, they sometimes provide a special installer for units that have trouble with certain driver versions.
