PM55 chipset supports 1600mhz ram???

Hello,

My studio 1747 core i7 laptop comes with PM55 chipset. now i think i saw somewhere in the intel website saying that this chipset supports the 1066mhz and 1333mhz ram. But if i were to place in the 1600mhz ram, will it just be downgraded to 1333mhz? why???

Only extreem series processor support 1600Mhz ram.

any thing less than that,ie: I7 840 also doesnt support the same.
