Hi. After a recent windows update (12th October 2023) the Intel Display driver was updated. Intel Corporation - Display - 31.0.101.4883. As a result of that update the Intel Graphics Command Center service is now grabbing port 5000 on my PC which has caused a conflict with other software. The only fix was to disable that service. I feel that 5000 was probably a bad port to have chosen.

Hello Samddesc,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I want to understand what happened just as much as you do and to do so, I need to confirm this:
1. Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.
- Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18377/intel-system-support-utility-for-windows.html
- Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
- To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
2. Which port were you using before the update?
3. Which app/software is being affected?
4. What problems are present in those apps/software (crashing, slow, error, connection, etc)?

Hi Deivid,
Thanks for looking at this ticket.
I'm not really needing any help with this. I am a software developer and we run a Kestral web server on Port 5000. Our software runs on AWS so this is not an issue for us in production. But when I run locally, for development purposes, I now have a conflict on Port 5000 since the Intel Corporation - Display - 31.0.101.4883 update.
Running netstat -a -n -p tcp -b will come up with this line which indicates the Intel Graphics Command Center
TCP 127.0.0.1:5000 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING [OneApp.IGCC.WinService.exe]
I guess 5000 is also a choice we have made for the port to run also, but I was surprised that a service would grab that port as it is a port that I have often seen used. I expected a service for something like the Intel Graphics Command Center to use something way more obscure.
More to the point it seems that uninstalling the Intel Graphics Command Center does not uninstall the service. I notice there are other support tickets about this, and it begs the question, why are people uninstalling this software? I would guess it might be because of a port conflict.
Anyway, I disabled the service, and everything is fine for me. I simply wanted to tell you that your service seems to be causing a conflict on a pretty mainstream port.
Hope you have a great day.
Sam.

Hello Samddesc,
Thanks for the clarification. In this case, I would like to let you know that I have received similar feedback related to the 5000 port, and the team in change was notified.
This team will have under consideration this feedback for future updates, however, I cannot confirm if this will be changed in the near future.
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
Regards,
Deivid A.
