Problem Intel Arc B580

As you can see in the image, the screen is filled with severe pixelation and graphical artifacts.

This happens even when nothing is open and I am only on the desktop. No games work at all — it is impossible to play anything. The computer also experiences freezes and black screens.

When I disable the graphics card driver, the problem disappears.

I have already formatted the computer, tried both older and newer drivers, tested a different monitor, and even tested it on a TV.

I also tried Windows 10. On Linux, regardless of the distribution, the computer gets stuck on a black screen. I have to disable the graphics driver through GRUB in order to access the desktop.

I have already updated the BIOS to the latest version and also tried downgrading to an older version, but nothing has solved the problem.

It has been almost a month since I have been unable to use my PC properly.

I have already used DDU, reformatted the PC, installed Windows 10, tried Linux, downgraded the BIOS to an older version, upgraded the BIOS to a newer version, and tested several Intel drivers, but nothing worked.

Hi FlyerX,

Thank you for contacting the Intel Community Forum. After reviewing your SSU report, I have a couple of questions:

1. Have you tried to update to the latest Intel Arc driver?

    • Your system is currently using Intel Arc B580 driver version 32.0.101.8724.
    • The latest available version is 32.0.101.8864 which can be found here: Intel® Arc™ Graphics - Windows*
    • I understand you've already tested several driver versions, but it would be best to perform one more clean installation using the latest version. Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to completely remove the current driver, then install version 32.0.101.8864.

2. Have you confirmed if Resizable BAR is enabled on your BIOS settings?

    • Your system uses an AMD Ryzen 5 8400F processor and an ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2+ motherboard.
    • Intel Arc graphics cards require Resizable BAR (ReBAR) for best performance and stability.
    • It would be best to check your BIOS and confirm that both Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding are enabled.
    • If either setting is disabled, enable them and test the system again. These options are usually found under the Advanced or PCIe Configuration section of the BIOS.
    • I highly suggest to contact your Motherboard manufacturer for guidance regarding the settings.

3. Have you tried to check or verify the GPU installation?

    • It is best to confirm or double check that the Arc B580 is installed in the motherboard’s primary PCIe x16 slot.
    • If your motherboard has another compatible PCIe slot, it may also be useful to test the card there.

If you have any questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to contact us.

1. As I mentioned above, I have already used the latest driver version and also used DDU.

2. Resizable BAR and Above 4G Decoding are enabled.

3. The graphics card is properly installed in the slot.

Hi FlyerX,

Thank you for the confirmation.

To assist with further investigation of the issue, please provide any available crash dump files or Windows Event Viewer logs related to the severe pixelation, graphical artifacts, system freezes, black screens, or crashes you have been experiencing.

Additionally, please generate latest Intel System Support Utility (SSU) report from your system and provide it. These logs can help better identify the root cause of the problem and determine the appropriate next steps.

If you have any questions or require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,

I'll try replacing the PC's power supply. I ordered one, and it should arrive in five days. I'll let you know the results.

I purchased and replaced the power supply with a brand-new Gigabyte 650W GP-P650G 80 Plus. I installed the latest driver and also tried using older drivers, but neither worked. The same error persists.

I used DDU to completely remove the drivers.

Here is the SSU report.

Please provide the following so I can investigate further:

  • Any crash dump files generated when the graphical corruption, freezes, or black screens occurred.
  • Windows Event Viewer logs, specifically from Windows Logs > System, showing any Critical or Error entries around the time the issue happened.

To access Event Viewer:

  1. Press Windows + R.
  2. Type eventvwr and press Enter.
  3. Go to Windows Logs > System.
  4. Look for any Critical (red) or Error (yellow) entries that match the time the issue occurred.
  5. Share those entries with me
