Hey I have an Asus Rampage Extreme II with the Intel ICH10R controller.
Hooked on that I have 2 x Crucial C300 SSD in RAID 0 for my system partition.
I was wondering if the RTS (Rapid Storage Technology) driver version 10.1 for Windows 7 64 bit with the F6 install of the driver enables TRIM functions for the RAID volume I have set up? (Driver I used at the point of writing this http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19601&ProdId=3061&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=19601&ProdId=3061&lang=eng )
I was also wondering if any Linux drivers / kernels supports RAID (0) and TRIM at the same time?
How can I check to make sure TRIM is enabled the say it should be?
Thanks for all

I'm afraid the answer is no, there is no TRIM support in a RAID configuration. It's clearly documented in http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/CS-031491.htm http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/CS-031491.htm. It's also true for RST 10.1.

How about the windows 7 software raid, would that be supported with TRIM enabled?
Seems to me that should work, but I have only heard of software raid since I thought the raid controller were a better way to go.
So is there no way to check if TRIM is enabled in the state im running my drives? anyways thanks for your reply.

As Edward said, TRIM does not work with RAID, krautmaster is wrong. Yes, TRIM will be enabled in Windows 7, and yes Windows 7 will send the TRIM command to SSDs in a RAID array, but the RAID software will not pass the TRIM command to SSDs! That has been the problem since day one.
This is documented and remains an issue, and the day that TRIM works with SSDs in RAID arrays will be big news in the PC enthusiast community. But we have not reached that day yet with any RAID software.

Hi Parsec.
Thanks for your very clear explanation.
I would like to ask you, any news about that?
Thanks
