I want to run six 2TB drives as three RAID 1 pairs (cutting total space in half but increasing performance and redundancy) on an ASUS P6X58D mobo with an Intel ICH10R disk controller chipset.
Intel's I/O Controller Hub feature table indicates support for RAID 1, but is vague when it comes to support for multiple RAID 1 pairs: http://is.gd/bGwXe
Has anybody run multiple RAID 1 pairs on a ICH10R controller?

I'm running two RAID-1 arrays plus an optical drive on the 3400 with no problems. (Side note: currently using the Marvell controller for eSATA only as it can get buggy when trying to use it for more than one purpose.)

Did you get the 3 RAID 1 pairs up and running on the ICH10R disk controller tayzonday?
I'm thinking of doing something similar and would be interested to know how it went.

By similar you mean RAID 10 with six disks its not supported.
But yes you can run three arrays with six disks to have three RAID 1 arrays each with two disks.

Thanks PeterUK. Could you please confirm - is that something that you have done yourself or do you know it to be true because you read it somewhere? If the latter and if you remember the source, could you please provide a link?
That's not actually what I meant by similar by the way. I meant similar as in I'm thinking of setting up 3 RAID 0 arrays with 2 disks each whereas he was talking about 3 RAID 1 arrays.
