I have a Samsung TV (model UA22F5100AR) that has been working great as my monitor for months on but In the middle of doing some work, the TV suddenly reverted to "No Signal" and now shows nothing at all - doesn't flicker, just "No Signal" on the Samsung TV.
Both the TV and computer, when used independently, are working fine. I am using a passive DP-to-HDMI adapter from a DisplayPort (DP++) output. So far, I have tried:
- Changed both HDMI cables and TV input ports
- Verified that the PC and adapter works when connecting to another TV
- Connected the Samsung TV to another source → and it works fine
- Forced detection on Windows and Intel Graphics Command Center
- Fully uninstalled and installed the Intel HD 630 driver using DDU (in safe mode)
The TV shows "No Signal", and Windows doesn't detect it at all (not mentioned in Device Manager).
**Hardware:**
- Lenovo ThinkCentre M710s, i5-7500, Intel HD Graphics 630
- Outputs: 2× DP++ and 1× VGA
- Display: Samsung UA22F5100AR (1080p, 60 Hz, 2× HDMI)
- Adapter: passive DP-to-HDMI
Has anyone come across a similar failure - where everything appears functional, yet the display simply does not handshake? Is there any software tools or logs (e.g., EDID dump, handshake trace) I could check before assuming the hardware needs to be replaced?

Hhmmm, are you in India? Whenever I search on this Samsung model, a link to Samsung's India Support always comes up first, which usually means this is a model that exists specifically for the India market. This being the case, you might want to ask them what might be going on.

So you haven't tried replacing the DP-to-HDMI adapter?

Nope! The DP-to-HDMI adapter is working fine — I tested it with my friend’s TV using my PC with the same HDMI cable and adapter, and there were no issues. But yesterday I tried connecting my Samsung TV to my friend’s laptop (which has a direct HDMI port, so no adapter needed) and, surprise, surprise, it showed the same problem: No Signal. So I think the issue is with the Samsung TV itself, not with the PC or DP-to-HDMI adapter. By the way, the “another source” I mentioned earlier was a set-top box, and the TV still works with that. Do you know how to fix this?

Another possibility here is to try getting an expert in this area, like @MUC, to look through the initial communication with the monitor (EDID, etc.) and try to identify what is causing the connection to fail.

Another thought: Have you checked to see if there is a firmware update available for your DP-to-HDMI adapter? It may not look like it, but there is a LSPcon chip built into the adapter and this chip is responsible for the DisplayPort to HDMI (and vice versa) protocol conversion. In some cases, firmware updates for this chip, providing bug fixes, have been released by manufacturers.
