Shared GPU Memory Override Not available

I am running a Core Ultra 7 155H with the Arc 8 core iGPU and 32Gb ram. I have updated the drivers and intel graphics software and they are both running the latest versions.

I like to run local LLMs in LMStudio and so vram is crucial. Currently, I can only use 18 of my 32Gb to the GPU, but with this feature which I cannot find, I should be able to use 27Gb. This would be a massive jump.

In the release notes, it is stated that the series 1 core ultras would support this feature, but I do not seem to find it.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the help!

Hi SmartOne_2000,

Thank you for contacting Intel regarding the Shared GPU Memory Override feature on your Intel Core Ultra 7 155H with Arc 8-core iGPU. I understand how important this feature would be for your local LLM work in LMStudio, as the additional VRAM allocation would significantly improve your performance.

Since you're using what appears to be an OEM laptop system, I'd like to inform you that laptop manufacturers often customize BIOS settings and driver configurations for their specific hardware implementations. The availability of certain features like Shared GPU Memory Override may depend on your laptop manufacturer's BIOS implementation and driver customizations.

To better assist you with this feature availability, could you please let me know:

What troubleshooting steps have you already attempted to locate this feature in Intel Graphics Software or your system settings?

What specific version of Intel Graphics Software are you currently running? Please provide the exact version number.

Where did you download your Intel graphics drivers from - Intel's website directly, or from your laptop manufacturer's support page?

Have you tried using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to perform a clean removal and reinstallation of your Intel graphics drivers?

If the feature remains unavailable after trying Intel's generic drivers, I recommend contacting your laptop manufacturer's support, as they may need to enable this feature through a BIOS update or provide specific driver versions that support this functionality.

Please let me know the results of these steps, and I'll provide additional guidance based on your findings.

Best regards,
