I recently bought a copy of Detroit on steam and I am getting this message everytime I open the game[Image 1]. And sometimes while playing when i continue to a new chapter or region the game just stutters rythmically for some reason.

My build:

Intel core i5-12400F

MSI pro H610M-E DDR4

Corsair Vengeance LPX 2 x 8 GB 3000 MHz(Intel's XMP enabled)

OS(and Game installed drive) WD Black SN7100 2TB

ASRock Steel Legends B580(Above 4G decode Enabled, ASPM disabled, ReBar enabled)[Image 2]

Hello @Dhruvajyoti !

Thank you so much for reaching out to the Intel Community. We’re thrilled to see an Intel Core i5-12400F and the new ASRock Steel Legend B580 in your build, that’s a fantastic combination!

I’m truly sorry to hear that the stuttering is interrupting your experience with Detroit: Become Human. I know how frustrating it is when you just want to dive into a great story and the tech doesn't want to cooperate.

After looking into the system requirements for the game via Steam and the official Quantic Dream website, I wanted to share a few insights to help get you back on track:

Checking Compatibility

Based on the official developer specifications, the game was primarily optimized for the hardware available at its launch. While your Intel Arc B580 is a modern and powerful card, it isn't explicitly listed in the legacy support database for this specific title.

Suggested Next Steps

Looking at the images you provided, it appears your system is currently running an older driver version. Since the Battlemage architecture (B-series) is quite new, staying on the latest driver is the best way to ensure the best performance and stability.

  • Please perform a clean installation using DDU, as it completely removes old or corrupted driver files that can cause stuttering issues. Refer to the article below for guidance. Once you have uninstalled the graphics drivers, please proceed to install the new drivers. - How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall a...
  • Update Your Drivers: Please visit the Intel Download Center to install the latest graphics driver. These updates often include specific "Game On" optimizations that can resolve the rhythmic stuttering you described.
  • Verify Game Files: Since the stuttering happens during chapter transitions, it's also a good idea to have Steam "Verify Integrity of Game Files" to ensure no data was corrupted during installation on your SN7100.

Quick Tip: Since you already have ReBar enabled (great job on that!), keeping your BIOS and drivers up to date will ensure your B580 can communicate perfectly with your i5-12400F.

If, by any chance, it does not work, for more detailed information regarding system requirements and additional assistance, we recommend contacting the Detroit: Become Human support team directly.

Warm regards,

Hello @Dhruvajyoti,

I just wanted to check in with you and see how things are going on your end. Were you able to try the steps we discussed earlier?

I completely understand how important a smooth experience is, especially for a story-driven game like Detroit: Become Human. If the issue is still persisting, please don’t worry, I’ll be more than happy to continue working with you on this and explore a few more options together.

If you’ve already updated the drivers and performed the clean installation, feel free to share how the system is behaving now. Any additional details (like when exactly the stutter occurs or if there’s been any change) would really help us narrow things down further.

Looking forward to your update, and I’m here whenever you need assistance.

Warm regards,

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, I did DDU and update to the latest driver version, sadly it seems to more of a game engine issue than actual Graphics issue as even turning down render resolution didn't aid.

I tried the using GMM and setting ShaderCacheSize to 5GB using RegEdit, to no avail(Have made a System Restore Point). I hope that we get custom shader size soon rather than letting the game decide on a small pool(500 MB) when we have a giant ocean(4.5TB) XD.

Thanks for the suggestions really appreciate it though.

Hi @Dhruvajyoti,

Thank you for getting back to us and for sharing the detailed steps you’ve already tried - I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into troubleshooting this.

As mentioned earlier, based on the official developer specifications, Detroit: Become Human was primarily optimized for the hardware available at the time of its release. While your Intel Arc B580 is a modern and capable GPU, it isn’t currently listed in the game’s legacy support database. Given your findings - especially regarding shader cache behavior - it does appear this may be more related to how the game engine handles newer architectures rather than a straightforward graphics driver issue.

At this point, we recommend reaching out directly to the official Quantic Dream support team for more specialized assistance:

https://www.quanticdream.com/en/Detroit-become-human-support

Since the game does not list the B580 as a supported GPU, sharing your observations (like the shader cache limitation you identified) with them could be very helpful. It may assist their team in identifying a potential patch or providing a more tailored workaround for their engine.

As we’ve reached the limits of what we can troubleshoot from our side, we will proceed with closing this thread. It will no longer be actively monitored, but please don’t hesitate to start a new discussion anytime you need further assistance, we’re always here to help.

Thank you again for being such an engaged member of the Intel Community. We truly value your input and your passion for getting the best out of your system.

Warm regards,

Manas Sharma
