The new Intel Graphics Software control panel causes high CPU usage from WMI provider host

After updating to the 101.6325 driver, the WMI provider host process constantly takes 8%~15% CPU. Quite annoying on a Ultra 7 258V system.

Uninstalled the new control panel and it calmed down.

Hey what is the progression of this issue ? Will we ever get a solution?  And why this issue isn't being a KNOWN ISSUE in the driver's release note yet?

Still not fixed despite several new driver updates. Nothing in the changelog yet. For now i uninstalled Intel Graphics Software until it is fixed.

Not even mentioned under known issues.

This is from changelog pdf:

Date: January 29, 2025
Driver Version: 32.0.101.6557 Non-WHQL and 32.0.101.6262 Non-WHQL

Update

The issue seems fixed after installing cumulative update KB5050094 which results in Windows build 24H2 26001.3037!

WMI process usage is completely zero for now, even when opening Intel Graphics Software!

So the issue was on Microsoft side the whole time, very weird. Can't find anything about WMI in Microsoft changelog. I only know that in Event viewer there were tons of WMI log relating to Nvidia too. Maybe this was related.

Fixed after installing cumulative update KB5050094

Good news, the WMI process usage is zero for me after installing the latest cumulative update, resulting in build 24H2 26100.3037

So the issue was on Microsoft side the whole time. This could explain why there were so many WMI event logs relating to Nvidia too in event viewer.
