ThinkPad X1 Laptops docked entering connected standby then black monitors

Hi,

Hopefully someone can shed some light for us. We have several ThinkPad X1's that are entering connected standby and then the dual external displays are turning black. These systems are when people are actively using there computers.

Microsoft keeps pointing us to the Intel Drivers as an issue. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. We are searching a needle in the haystack here....

Error is: Event 506, Kernal Power

The system is entering connected standby

Reason: Idle Timeout.

Windows 10 1803, build 17134.706

Video Driver: Intel UHD Graphics 620 - Driver 26.20.100.6709 - Date: 4/11/2019

Well, first you should update windows 10 to 1809, or wait a week or two and update to 1903.

Kernal power events are a microsoft problem, and they are incorrect pointing you to intel.

Also, you should use ONLY the drivers provided by Lenovo, and not the Intel generic driver.

Lenovo is solely responsible for your laptop, and docking station, so contact them for support.

Thanks Al for the quick reply.

We have been running the Lenovo supported drives and got the same issue. We were then "suggested" by Lenovo to try the Intel drivers as the Intel drivers have additional options.

Also, we have tested 1809 and still have had the same issue.

Still, lenovo is your support path.

Also, try it without the dock.
