I recently installed a i5-6600 processor on a GA-H170-HD3 motherboard.
I did not install a videocard because I want to use the graphic controller of the cpu.
Windows 7 works fine until I try to install the Intel HD Graphics 530 drivers.
Installation of the drivers fails with a timeout.
After that the system periodically freezes for 10 minutes.
I see the following error message in the event viewer: timeout waiting for Intel(R) HD Graphics Control Panel Service
Can someone tell me how I can troubleshoot this issue?
Can someone tell me where I can find more information? E.g. logging of the drivers.
Thanks,
David

Have you tried downloading the zip version of the latest video drivers?

Try performing manual driver installation:

Yes. I already tried that. I tried the drivers supplied with the motherboard, and the latest version which I downloaded.
I also tried the manual installation.
Result is the same with all attempts: Installation fails after 10 to 15 minutes.
The same error message appears in the event log.
I am looking for some more detailed logging. Which hopefully explains the cause of the timeout.
